That is, indeed, a
JUMBO remote.
Good morning Guardians, I hope everyone is well, and having a great weekend

We had an enjoyable trip to Liverpool

The trip came up because a mate of mine and Matt's, Dan, was going over to Liverpool to buy a new car, and wanted a bit of company for the journey. Matt and I both like Liverpool, so we volunteered to go along. We stopped for coffee and a bite to eat on the way over, and then Dan dropped me and Matt in the city centre, while he went off to do business. We had time to have a look around, and a walk to the docks, before heading to the pub we like, The Railway Hotel, for lunch and a few pints, and then Dan drove us back to Leeds in his new vehicle. It was a long way for a good pub lunch, and a few pints, but it made a change, and we had a good laugh

I got back home about 6pm, but it seemed later after my early start, and the lunch-time beer

I was in bed by 10pm

I have some work to do today unfortunately, and an online meeting this evening, but hopefully I can get an hour or two's lollygaggin' in

Have a great day Guardians

Sounds like a good time, Jack. Some interesting looking modern buildings in your pics there. That first one reminds me a little of the Clinton Presidential Library in Little Rock, Arkansas, though I doubt the building in Liverpool is regularly compared to a giant single-wide mobile home.
I'm off to power wash a deck this morning. Trying to get it done before it heats up.
I was doing the same today.
This is really bad news about having to use a VPN to view the site, because they're already talking about adding them to the
verboten list here
That’s no bueno, though I feel like banning VPNs would be pretty tough to enforce. Probably best to get a good one proactively (maybe you already have).
The stairs in the main Minneapolis library remind me of some of Escher's works with optical illusion stairs!

They do a look a bit like something from Escher, don’t they?
With no justification, I've been assuming that your trail was a big loop. Oops!
Unfortunately, it is not. Here’s a map that gives a pretty good idea of the trail route. When Eleanor and I did it a few years ago, I marked all the mile markers in Google Maps, which has been helpful this time around, both while I’m walking and for finding places to park.
(You might notice some gaps in the otherwise evenly spaced mile markers. On the east end of the trail, for whatever reason, there is no marker for Mile 1. On the west end, the last actual mile marker is Mile 26. The end of the trail used to be just past that, but at some point they extended it a couple extra miles. The westernmost point on the map is where the paved trail ends, a little past what would be Mile 28.)
They cannot make any kind of pizza down here Kurt.
Heading out for some biscuits and gravy, to test my cardiovascular system.

Biscuits and gravy might be my favorite breakfast. I think it’s good to make your heart to work a bit. You can’t just go easy on it. Eating biscuits and gravy or fried chicken is basically like doing cardio.

Hope you don't get noodles and ketchup Bob!
I watched that last night.
Love the wood on that one!
Hi Jack, thank you for asking. It’s been a determined and focused spring and summer. We just finished up building a municipal courtroom and staff admin space. It was a complicated project for a few reasons I won’t mention in public

. Anyway, we did deliver before the deadline. The ribbon cutting was Friday. With the job done, Greg and I took Dad fishing. We limited out on speckled trout. It was good eating Sunday.

Good stuff, Pete.

Well I’m only like a day and half late posting this.

Yesterday morning was cool and overcast, a nice morning for another walk. I did another six miles, starting out in the small town of Mayer walking back east to the marker for Mile 19, then west to Mile 22, then back to where I’d parked.
There’s a lot of farm land out this way, and the trail is more open, with less tree coverage and wider views.
This veterans memorial is just off the trail in Mayer, near where I had parked.
From this point on, as you can sort of see on the map I shared above, the trail heads due west and is basically dead straight.
Eleanor has recently joined a swim team, so now rather than swim lessons once a week, she has swim team twice a week, which is what we did yesterday afternoon/evening. I’ve had my Lunar Lamb with me again.
I spent most of today out pressure washing the front and back decks. I’ve still got a bit more to do, and after that I’ve got to seal them. I’m trying to get this all done while the weather stays nice, so I’m not sure if I’ll get another walk in this week, but we’ll see.
Hope you Guardians are having a nice week!
