Good morning Guardians, I slept badly, and imagine I'll pay for it laterMatt's missus is away, and he has the kids, and I think Wolfie might be in a similar position, so I don't know how much I'll see of them this weekend, but I have an arrangement to meet a few other friends in town later. I hope everyone has a fantastic weekend

I had a video visit with my c-pap PA-C yesterday. She turned down my pressure, and I woke up with my face dried out only once, and not too badly, and not till it was time to get up anyway. So it should be a vimfull day, and sleeping through the night might be becoming a less rare triumph.
Glad to hear you slept better Jer, I need to get back to the Sleep Clinic myself. Enjoy your vim brother!View attachment 2996820

Love the photos, Jack! Too bad about the Sam Smiths pubs. Some of my favorite winter beers. That pint looks grand. Wishing everyone a vimfull weekend!Glad to hear you slept better Jer, I need to get back to the Sleep Clinic myself. Enjoy your vim brother!Nice shot

There seems to an outbreak of colds and flu among my friends, so as I didn't want to stay in, on what is quite a nice day here, I headed up the road to the yuppie cafe, and had coffee, and an overpriced merguez sausage sandwich, which arrived with neither cutlery, nor condiments, nor sugar, nor even a napkin - and they have the cheek to add a 'service charge'The coffee was mediocre, but the sandwich was OK, and I wolfed it down, so I didn't have to listen to too much of the inane prattling of the clientele
I didn't take a pic, unless someone saw my Lambsfoot, and called for an Armed Response Unit!

The new bollards outside the post office made me chuckle, though even painting them red hasn't stopped people driving into them
Instead of walking up the main road, I decided to cut through the old church yard...

I had thought this old Sam Smith's pub had re-opened, but it's currently closed, as it has been for most of the past 20 years unfortunately. Like a lot of other Sam Smiths pubs, which are often closed for years at a time because of the deranged idiot who owns the brewery, and the way he treats his staff

I walked back onto the main road, and bought a couple of bottles of wine, and some booze snacks from the supermarket, then decided to go for a pint in one of the bars nearby, before heading back home

The actual Post Box looks fantastic. Amazing what a coat of paint can do.The new bollards outside the post office made me chuckle, though even painting them red hasn't stopped people driving into them![]()
Stunning shot Steve
I wonder how long it will be before the red post boxes are gone, like the telephone boxes before them? The actual Post Box looks fantastic. Amazing what a coat of paint can do.
