Awesome TEW Steve. The perfect example of yesterday Sheffield!![]()
Afternoon Guardians. Hope y'all are having a good day. Had a knife delivered today. So drove down to my apt and got it. Michael May Lambwith Welch Ram Horn covers. May had switched to stainless steel so this blade is a little different looking. Has a more forward and smaller nail nick than my over May Lambs. Happy trails!

Nicely matched covers
Very debonair Mitch
Thanks for taking us along with you Barrett, it's been very enjoyableIt was rainy and cool here in Minnesota today. Not the best weather for a walk, maybe, but the kids are off school for the next three days, so today was my best shot to finish up the Dakota Rail Trail.
As I expected, there were no mile marker signs past Mile 26, but according to Google Maps, the distance from the Mile 26 sign to the end of the trail is 2.8 miles, so in total today’s walk was around 5 and half miles.

This little rest area/bridge was a nice place to stop for knife pics.

I had my GL-24 with me today.

The trail enters McLeod County not too far past Mile 26. I believe the trail used to end at the county line, but at some point they extended it by a couple miles.
![]()
The last mile of the trail goes through the town of Lester Prairie, MN. No offense to anyone here from Lester Prairie (seems unlikely), but it doesn’t exactly have that same quaint small town feel that New Germany had.

I did enjoy this ambulance graveyard.
![]()
To be fair, some of the more residential parts of the town were more pleasant to walk through, with some well kept green space alongside the trail.

And then, when you get to the far west side of town, the trail just ends.
![]()
So that’s that, all 28.8 miles (about 57.5 total miles walked) of the Dakota Rail Trail. Thanks for coming along with me. I didn’t exactly plan on this taking quite as long as it did, but I’m glad I finished it. Maybe next time I’ll do it on a bike… it would certainly go by faster!![]()

Good morning Guardians, I hope everyone is doing well. I had to go up to the post office late afternoon, so I decided to have tea in the pub, and a couple of pints. I was hoping for a short nap when I got back home, but there wasn't time, so I went into town to meet Matt. I went into a bar, which was a regular haunt at one time, but it has changed a bit, with a rather odd range of beers. I ended up drinking a stout, because I didn't fancy anything else. Matt came straight from his Muay Thai class, and I got him a Double IPA, which turned out to be £12 a pint! The cinema was empty, and the film - One Battle After Another - was somewhat strange, but we had a laugh about it. It was still shortly before 11pm when we left, but strangely, a lot of bars had either closed, or were closing. We ended up at one I've not been in for a decade, where I "tasted" Pabst Blue Ribbon for the first timeI don't have too much on today, but I'm hoping to meet up with Wolfie at some point

Have a good day Guardians

Interesting Jer. After a lifetime of wearing Levis jeans, I started wearing a few different types of 5.11 legwear about 10 years ago, and never went back to jeans, or to my Carhartts either. Just recently a bought a pair of jeans, though they are 5.11, and I'll probably get another pair - or even getting one of the suitcases down from the top of my wardrobe! I do like a few extra pockets, and a bit more freedom of movement, but there are options for that nowI've been on a jeans-buying binge.
I've always bought "relaxed fit" jeans, but lately my 36 waists get stretched while crushing my circumference; and my 38s are way too voluminous, so I got a brilliant idea during River's prime days: get regular-fit 38s. I ordered 40s by accident, but those fit pretty well, so I ordered another pair, then I wore them for a day at work, and no, they aren't a good fit. So I ordered a pair of 36s and they were a good fit, so I ordered a couple more.
The first 40 was over $10, the second 40 was under $9, and the 38s were $7.50 each. So I'm not sure I'll bother to return the unopened 40 for $8.60, but I might as well.
I must get on with my thrilling life.

I like fuller-flavoured beers Steve, so I'm afraid it's appeal was rather wasted on meWhat did you think of the Pabst ?
Nice pic of your HHB !![]()
Wow Steve, that's a stunning picGood morning Guardians another dreary wet day her. We need the moisture so I'm not complaining

I haven't done a lot today. I was running low on tea-bags, so I went over to the supermarket, and also had some nice pancakes, with bacon and maple syrup for lunch. I felt a little greedy, but they sure tasted goodHope everyone is having a good day

I was very surprised to see it on sale here Steve. It didn't seem to taste of anything at all, but then some folks seem to like that in a beerNot surprised, never liked Pabst. Even among American beers of my youth it wasn't consider very good.
I'm not sure it had much nutritional value, but it was certainly tasty! That sounds like a nice lunch !
I hadn't heard of 5.11s.5.11 legwear
