The example I tried didn't seem to taste of much at all Gary, but I had drunk a stronger beer immediately before. Matt went to get us another pint each, and as I had commented that I had never had PBR when we came in, he got us a half-pint each, on the sideAlthough I don't think I've drunk PBR in at least 40 years, I found this discussion interesting. Unlike Steve, back when I started drinking beer in the early to mid 1970s, about the only type of beer anyone I knew drank was American lagers, and they all tasted the same to me, with 2 exceptions. I thought I'd be able to identify PBR and Budweiser in blind taste tests, and I LIKED Pabst more than the "standard" lagers, while I didn't care for the different taste of Bud (maybe the rice used in Bud?).
I wonder if Pabst tastes the same today as it did in 1977, when (according to Wikipedia) it was third on the list of most beer sold in the US? I should try some again and see if it tastes familiar. I'm more "sophisticated" about beer ingredients now than I was 50 years ago, and I wonder if what I liked about PBR's taste back then is that it was a little maltier than most other American lagers.
There really seems to be no end to his talentsDan is amazing!
Yes, unfortunately, my friendJack, it seems like you spend a lot of time trying to deal with dysfunctional aspects of English society!![]()
Thanks GaryThat sound very acceptable to me, Jack; well done!![]()
Happy memoriesThis was the first version of "Cotton Fields" I ever heard, and when I was in my teens, this was one of my go-to songs to sing to myself while I was unloading bales of hay from a wagon and sending them up the conveyor to a brother stacking them in the barn. Never raised any cotton on our Michigan dairy farm.![]()
Thanks buddyYour AC is Absolutely Charming, Jack!
I always get enthused when I hear your frequent optimistic reminders of impending spring, Jer, but this one seems quite premature (unless you're speaking on behalf of the Southern Hemisphere, or you mean that the corner around which Spring lurks is actually quite a distance away).
That looks like the kind of book that tends to dominate my library loans!

Sweet pics of Violet, and a charity that sounds worth supporting MitchViolet
Kristy had Thursday & Friday this week. Yesterday she wanted to go look at Survivors are Us.
I picked up a heap of books. Can't remember the last time I bought books, usually the library.
It is a charity that helps with those serving domestic violence and any 1 that needs help
Set up in the warehouse district 1 suburb over. They have a second shop, grocery section and meals. Do a lot of good
