 πŸ‘

Sounds a plan.

Cool colours.
Looks like it must be a bit cool though.

It wasn't too bad , 47Β° F . The rain let up and there wasn't any wind to speak off.

I really love seeing these types of photos of brothers a little later in age-now Steve I'm not calling you old ok 🀣

I lost my brother Andy when I was 24, he never got to 30 - and I always find myself thinking - especially when I see great photo's like this what he would be doing - his family - our gatherings, our brotherly talks etc. So this here is such a great photo ( I thought you may have snuck in a Lambsfoot hidden in the photo somewhere to set the challenge to find it! πŸ˜‚πŸ‘

Thank mate, sorry to hear of your brother passing so young :(
Stan's Thread was something I think he'd had for a long time, and probably one of those gadgets you could only pick up in Sheffield. I will have to see if I have a photo of it, but basically, it had 3 wheels, which could be pressed into the nickel silver.

Sounds like the things that were in some ways very unique, but were found in a lot of sheds and toolboxes of handymen. My father had a range of gadgets in his tool shed that you just never see anywhere now. Have a good weekend mate. 🍻

I dread to think how many useful tools were lost when some of the cutlery firms closed down, or when they were bombed during WW2 :( Stan's thread looked a bit like something you'd use on pastry, and I'm not sure anyone, but a cutler, would even know what it was. Stan showed me how he used it, and it was a very simple device, with 3 small wheels making the threads, and then you'd move it along, putting the wheel on the left in the last thread, so the following threads were evenly spaced. Amazing that Cosimo does them perfectly by hand :)

Good morning Guardians, I hope everyone is having a great weekend :) The birthday event I went to was rather thinly attended, and the venue pretty poor, but we made the most of it, and my old dancing legs are aching a bit today :D Back home by midnight though, so I caught up on my sleep :) Work today unfortunately 😭 Have a good one Guardians :)

Jack, looks like you are ready to check some valve clearances. I’ve always believed that you can never have enough tools and that one looks like it has served you well! Don’t work too hard either!

My $30 Chinese percolator has died. It failed to get the water hot enough to perc, so I transferred the water and grounds to the old Revere Ware.

It occurs to me that I've never heard of any death being directly attributed to the use of an electric drip machine. I'm going to bring one up from the basement, and maybe run the vinegar through it once a week. Or once a month. Maybe once a week. Or as the spirit moves me.

Probably one of my most tools when I was an spprentice mechanic, but mine were in Imperial (inches), and that's an old pic I'm afraid. I'm not sure where that set came from, or where they are now - hopefully in my tool box! πŸ˜πŸ‘

Sorry about your percolator Jer πŸ‘
Good morning all. We were all set to go to a polo match, but the weather has ended that adventure.
Enjoy your Sunday.

Sorry about that Bob :( I've never been to a polo match, here you practically have to be aristocracy. That is some sweet wood my friend πŸ™‚πŸ‘
Thanks Jack
