Good Ebony buddyGood for you. Your work is wasted on people who don't know their own jobs.

You know, speaking of the possible chase-ways from the church kitchen, we have some blueprints somewhere. In cardboard tubes, probably somewhere in the office. Doug will know.
It's All Saints/Souls? Sunday, so there will be candles. I'm bringing my own tealights in silver-plate holders that I got for Dad after one of his candles went a bit wild.
I brought up my 12-cup Hamilton Beach Java Spa, since the Keurig won't be available at church. I might have to run it again, in the interest of Science. Either it's garbage, or it was designed to flow through a metal mesh basket and the paper filter is too slow.
Actually, a smart guy like me might eventually think of bringing a thermos to church every Sunday. Coffee is expensive enough without being packed in techno-thimbles.
Twenty seven degrees out there! A ways to go to get up to a fifty two high.
Striking Lamb
Bob, your checkerboard lambsfoot on the rocks is neat!
(I think that's my first oxymoron for November.)
My Lambsfoot of the Week is LamBarJack, my rosewood HHB. It's shown here with a pair of new boots I bought at least 5 years ago. (I bought some new boots again this week; I should take some knife photos while the boots are still reasonably presentable.)

Great pic Leon, guess what's going down my neck?!I treat my phone like an old fashioned landline. It's on a table whether i'm home or not and there it stays. If anyone rings when i'm out, they'll ring back or it's not important. You have a good week mate.![]()

Good for you MikeI had a boss who was a nice guy and good boss and very knowledgeable. For whatever reason he wasn't satisfied with the design I was working on and kept having me revise it. By the sixth revision he had it almost back to where I started with design number one
I made the sixth revision and took it to the Division of Design and Construction who handled the bid process to get the pre-bid meeting scheduled.
Sometime later, Dennis stopped by and inquired as to how the revision was going.
I told him it was over at Design and Construction and the pre-bid meeting was on such and such a date.
"What?", he says, "I thought you were going to send it around for comments again before taking it over there!"
"I know you thought that, but I never agreed to it."
He went away.
There are reasons I never climbed high in the organization![]()

We got off without a sermon yesterday. The service was long enough, what with All Saints Sunday and communion.
When I win the lottery, I'll buy the church a real bell. Even a big handbell tolling by itself sounds like an electric sneeze.

Nice capture of your woodie Barrett. It’s one of those citrus-forward IPAs, so yes, a bit fruity, and quite refreshing.
Thanks, Jack. We had a good time. I’ll make that suggestion to Scout for next year.(If I make a chip butty part of the costume, she might be in.)
Thanks, Steve!
Thanks, Bob. It’s mostly just me searching around Amazon and local resale shops for things that will work. There were two items this year that required some actual work on my part. First was the guitar; I found a toy one at Goodwill that worked great as a starting point, but the body was all wrong, so I had to make that. And then, surprisingly, I couldn’t find a scarf that looked anything close to the red and white one he wears in the movie, so I had to make that myself (don’t look too close at the stitching!).
Beautiful maple, Steve. I think I’ve mentioned here before the maple tree in our front yard. When we bought the house (in summer) I thought the big maple in the yard would be beautiful in fall. Well, it turns out it’s a maple variety that basically doesn’t change colors at all.The leaves go from dark green with a hint of red to slightly less dark green, then they fall off.
I thought you Guardians might enjoy this video that showed up on my YouTube suggestions today.
I think Big Jim probably would have appreciated the no-nonsense Hartshead Barlow. That’s what I’ve got in my pocket today.
