️. Glad to be back home. NYC was a productive work trip. It’s a fun time to visit but the big city is already getting crowded for the holidays.

I must be about the only person of my age, in the Western World, who didn't get to see the Moon landings live! There were kids in the Kalahari Desert who saw it, but my dad thought I should be in bed on a school night!

Great Post Jack!
Looking forward to the weekend, changing my EDC, really looking forward to carrying my Hartshead.
Sorry for the absence - work and work!!
Have a great day folks!
From 5 to 17 (when I got my first leather jacket), I was strictly double denims Bob!![]()
Both Matt and his missus were originally born in the obscure Northern English county of Lancashire, which is a thin strip of undeveloped land between Yorkshire and the Irish Sea. Strangely, they are not embarrassed about this, which always surprises me.
Even less people have heard of Lancashire Day than have heard of Lancashire itself. In fact, neither Matt nor Ruth had ever heard of it, until I raised the subject as a bit of a joke. It is coming up at the end of the month, so I have bought them a few Lancashire gifts by way of commiseration.
I'm not sure what stories they have to tell about Lancashire, but I can't see them being very interesting. Opening a page at random, I read, "Can I have a Chorley cake, a steak and kidney pudding, and 3 balm cakes please Mr Roberts? Eee, yi've got a face like a wet weekend in Preston!" I guess they can always use it as a door-stop

More than a decade ago, Tool Man had a boxed Dremel for sale on his stall at £10. A punter offered him £4 for it. I kept my mouth shut...for a while. Then I angrily shouted, "That Dremel is a bargain at £10, and you can £$&@ off, because I'm going to buy it!" I insisted that Tool Man take my money, took the box home, put it in my tool cupboard, and there it stayed!A couple of weeks ago, Tool Man said he was after a Dremel, so I took it back down today, and he gave me by £10 back

I'm not sure about drunk but they were definitely Korean! It's the Astell&Kern A&Norma SR25.
It looks weird in every position except in your hand. When held with the wrist in a natural and comfortable position, the screen is then aligned straight up and down even though the device isn't! It sounds good and natively supports DSD256 (DSD 11.2 MHz) and 32-bit / 384 kHz PCM audio which probably nobody, least of all me, really needs. Maybe I'll grow into it - they say that the phenomenon of the group of self-described audiophiles being nearly exclusively older men is explained by men, nearly exclusively, becoming more sensitive to noise artifacts in recorded sound as they age.
Here it is again and with the lamb I've been bumbling around with today:

The worst thing about that trip were the people from West Yorkshire I had to share it with!I'd forgotten how nightmarish those Bulgarian vacation pictures looked.

Yeah, wasn't even because my dad was concerned about my school workThat’s a shame.![]()
Ah, the Canadian Tuxedo.![]()
I think it can be summed up in just 3 words Barrett - It isn't Yorkshire! That’s funny. I’ve heard of Lancashire, but have to admit I know next to nothing about it.
I'm never sure about TV accents, and that series had completely passed me by until now!I’ve been hearing a few northern accents recently, watching the latest series of Taskmaster (currently one of my favorite British shows, which I discovered over the summer and have since watched all 20 series, which are thankfully all on YouTube in their entirety). On the current series (series 20, which just ended this week), three of the five comedian-contestants are from the North: Phil Ellis is from Preston in Lancashire, Maisie Adam is originally from Pannal, near Harrogate, and Reece Shearsmith is from Hull.

I thought about charging interest! That’s a generous return policy!![]()
Interesting pic, Jack. I’m actually about halfway through Böri Øegg’s Nnnnnnnnnnn Nnnnn right now.![]()
Cool pic buddyI spent a good bit of the day yesterday working on leaf cleanup. Finished up this morning. HHB with me again.

I hope everyone is having a great weekendI called in at the cafe, and then met up with Wolfie, and a few more friends for lunch. It has never stopped raining all day, but we ended up taking his dog for a walk later. I met up with my pal Doug, who lives over in Halifax, later, and we shared a pizza, and had a couple of pints

I think it's fair to say that company is not what it wasView attachment 3026815
You have to have registered your Tilley hat to be able to get it replaced, by the way. I think that's a new rule, because I remember wondering if they'd just give a hat to anybody who said he'd lost one. Mine was new eighteen or twenty years ago.
Yeah, it was OK SteveSounds like you made the best of a rainy day![]()

That's above and beyond for shabby treatment.A company here used a quote from one of my articles for a decade, saying their "no-nonsense" guarantee appeared to demonstrate a high level of confidence in their products. When I returned a jacket with a broken popper, they charged me £20![]()
Which for some reason reminds me of the movie, Robin and Marian: "'The people would follow you, Robin. The things you did...' "We never did them!'"Sadly, guarantees aren't always what they seem these days![]()
Can you eat natto? They used to ask all the time.Good morning Guardians, I'm coming to you live from Japan today!![]()
