Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

I went to town for a few things, calling in at Charlie's on the way. I bought some hugely reduced xmas baubles in a photographic shop last January, and only just got round to taking a pic, so I had to go back to get it printed and installed. Bonus Xmas gifts for Wolfie and Matt! 🤣 Another customer in the shop was hugely enthusiastic about them, and petitioning for me to do a 365 day photo calendar next year! 🙄 Yes, I do tend to attract mad women! 🫢

Taking a page from Gary, I am almost through my lamb rotation.😄View attachment 3057001
Bob, I hope you get the same feeling of accomplishment that I do when I make it all the way through a rotation! :thumbsup::thumbsup:🤓

Good Monday morning, Guardians! We are back in Mississippi at my mother in law’s

I brought a host of favorite knives with me on this trip, as I plan to oil the joints and do some sharpening.

Since it’s not unusual to see an alligator in the bayou and lake behind Granny’s house, of course I brought the “Gator Gutter” 🐑

Vibrant vintage Lamb, David! :thumbsup::cool::thumbsup:

Good afternoon Gents. I finally have my own lambs foot. Ya’ll seem like a great group. Looking forward to participating. Jason

Congrats on your lambsfoot, and welcome to the Guardians, Jason! :cool::cool::thumbsup:
Can you give some details about your knife and its maker? Thanks!

Thanks buddy, all's well now. I had a couple of plumbing issues to deal with and had to install a new garbage disposal unit under my sink.
That's the sort of job I'd work on for a week, and then call a professional. :rolleyes:

It is about to get very hectic and busy at our house so I will just wish you all a Very Merry Christmas now my friends . I will be carrying the one on the Left .

I always enjoy seeing a 2-blade lamb, Steve! :cool::thumbsup::cool:
What kind of tree is the knife on in your pic? I'm trying to learn to recognize at least a few types of trees by their bark, but my progress is slow.

Nice lamb, Bob, and a photo of what looks like the start of most of my evening meals! :thumbsup::thumbsup::cool:

MERRY CHRISTMAS!
To you all🤩🤩
It's Christmas Eve here nearly 1pm.
Same to you and all the other Guardians, Mitch! :cool::thumbsup::thumbsup:

I got called into the lounge room earlier.
Kristy said quick you need to to a picture I've found a use for it! She had taken Brian from the side table and proceeded to use it to scratch a scratchy.

I have a cheeky wife.
The suspense is killing me! :eek:
Did Brian reveal a winner???

They may have had it made to promote their business, or to gift to reps, etc. More likely though is that someone thought it was a good name to use to sell knives. Burgon & Ball is a well-known name, particularly in Australia and New Zealand, where they were famous for their sheep shears (you can see these being made in videos online). For this reason, their name is regularly used on products, such as pocket knives and secateurs, sold in garden centres and hardware stores. The firm, and their old factory, still exist, but are more of a marketing outfit these days. Your knife could have been made by any number of Sheffield cutlery firms, a wild guess would be Howarth's :thumbsup:

I enjoyed the illustrated history, Jack! :cool::thumbsup::thumbsup:

Good morning, Guardians, and Happy Christmas Eve to you all! Our tree is lit, with all the presents under its boughs, and fresh cookies coming out of the oven.
And . . . I don't have to work again until next Monday. RALF says, "Hi, and have a great holiday!"

Sounds like 'tis the Season at your place, Jeff! :thumbsup::cool::thumbsup:
Always a treat to see RALF in all his stippled glory!

I hope everyone is doing well leading up to Christmas.
No white Christmas here. It will be in the 70's for the next several days.View attachment 3058485

Another winner, David! :cool::thumbsup::thumbsup:
(I used to wok with a guy named Moseley whose father came to the US from England after WW2. I wonder if he was related to your knife?)

Seconded to you and all the other Guardians, and dog, a fine looking specimen he is. Early Christmas morning here, just waiting for coffee machine then have some driving to do which i'm not looking forward to. So everyone out there have a good and safe day and enjoy your day whatever you have planned. 🦌 🦌 🦌 🎅🎅🎅🥰.

Thanks buddy 👍

I forgot to take a photo of my Xmas meal 🫣 I think there's a couple of roast potatoes left over, and a few roast carrots and parsnips 🙄 Glad I ate early! 😂

I think I'm going to watch 'The Producers' with the rest of a bottle of Chateauneuf-du-Pape 😉 Enjoy your day Guardians 👍

Bob, I hope you get the same feeling of accomplishment that I do when I make it all the way through a rotation! :thumbsup::thumbsup:🤓

Gary, I did derive some satisfaction rotating through my lambs. It also forces me to use all of them.

It must be a hidden Irish gene in me, I love my taters.

Our poet laureate shines again.😃

Thanks Gary, it's an ash tree which is now endangered by the Emrald ash borer.

Old Toffee Wings helped me eat a piece of curious apple dessert that fell apart when lifted.

I'd decided against bringing my mess tray to the potluck, and forgot to bring my Swedish Army nesting flatware anyway.
And I didn't have a plastic fork yet because I started on the dessert table while others were crowding the mains table, where the plastic utensils were.

Merry Christmas, Guardians! 🎄

We’re back home in Arkansas for the Christmas. This week has been a bit frantic (for a variety of reasons), but overall we’ve had a good time. Sorry I haven’t stopped in here more. On the plus side, it was 75°F here today, which, while not particularly Christmasy, has been quite nice. I hope all of y’all have had a wonderful holiday!
