Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

I need a nap after my New Year's breakfast, though.*

Excellent plan.

I've got the London New Year's Day parade on. It seems to be all high school marching bands. I thought it was in Grand Rapids at first, because that's where this public TV channel is from.

*I soaked the beans for at least as long as recommended, then cooked them for longer than it's supposed to take, then stood them overnight in their juices in the fridge, then warmed them up on the stove, and they came out quite decent. I added some thick, fruity sauce, probably apple, that I had thought had some pork tenderloin in it, and maybe it is left over from a pork roast.
I brought up some bacon last night to thaw, so that was my pork, and I cooked that first, then some informal cornbread pancakes, which needed some maple syrup, then I wilted some green cabbage leaves in the beans. And had the cabbage and beans over the bacon and the crumbs of the cornbread, So if there's a requirement that the four ingredients be mixed, I'm covered.

I'm going to start taking down my lights. We always did it on New Year's when I was a kid, and although I think about leaving them up until the 13th day of Christmas, New Year's seems like a good time to put them away and move on. Not that it all has to be done in one day anymore.

I would have definitely needed a nap after that hearty breakfast Jer! πŸ˜‹ I remember you always take down your Christmas decorations early. It won't take me long to take down a couple of simple decorations and some cards, I haven't put any lights up the past few years. I haven't had a single visitor this year, and still have Eve's presents, and the ones for Wolfie's family. I gave him his present, a knife, but he's already had it pinched πŸ˜–
Thanks Jack. A fine sammich to start the new year.
Thanks Bob :)

The word on the street is that the KOTY giveaway was won by danno50 danno50 , and since he's a poster here, he gets the stainless TEW Lambsfoot, plus 3 others from my kitchen table - assuming you want them Dan, a couple of them are going to need some attention?!

:(:mad:on the theft.

Now you mention it, I didn't have lunch.

It's all put away except some extension cords.
I haven't had anyone over either. The lights are for me, with perhaps an element of participation/ competition with others who decorate, and, as Mom used to say, a Christmas card for the neighborhood.

I raked the eaves and cleared the snow again and you wouldn't know it to look at it. Still it snows.

I had to work today, but now let the lollygagging begin! Berry is lounging with me.

Well with me being a stranger I missed the competition, SO glad to see Dan danno50 danno50 scoop up the prize, you can guarantee they are going to get used!!

Jack your amazing my friend- Thank you!

I'll post a couple of pics of Cracker Jack taken in the fall of 2018 while I was doing some yard work. Yard work in the summer is easy to plan; mow the lawn once a week whether it needs it or not (and my wife takes care of all the flower beds). Fall yard work is also not very disruptive to schedules: rake leaves once or twice a week so that the leaf cart is full when the city comes to empty it on Tuesday morning. But winter yard work is TOTALLY unpredictable and can often take up inordinate amounts of time! This week, it rained all day Sunday, essentially removing all remaining snow in our city (except for the piles formed during snow removal activities). Sunday night into Monday had freezing rain followed by snow. I've done two snow removal sessions, each of at least one hour, each day from Monday through Thursday, and I'm getting pretty tired of shoveling, scraping, and sweeping. Fortunately, only 3+ months of winter remain!

Sounds like winter is keeping you busy Gary!
I was pleasantly surprised to hear that I had won Jack's generous giveaway. I am not on my home computer, so no picture.

Good morning Guardians, well I guess that's it for another year. I have a 9.30am appointment with a physiotherapist about my bad knee, which is a bit of a joke, considering it's 16 months since the injury, and I was referred higher up the medical food chain more than a year ago, but I'll go and say my piece  After that, I have some errands to run, and I'll need to go into town to buy some bread, which will be in high demand I expect. Hope you all have a good day Guardians. Hey, it's nearly the weekend again, how did that happen?! :D
