Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

Good morning Guardians, I have a bit of a sore throat this morning, and really hope I'm not coming down with something as it's Wolfie's birthday weekend coming out, and I've shelled out for gig tickets. The weather is gloomy outside  Definitely getting lighter earlier though

Have a good day Guardians, and enjoy carrying your Lambs :)

Well, I was going to suggest that you stay indoors and recover today, but then...

I hope everyone is having a good day. The weather is vile here in Leeds, and the market was dead as a doornail. I don't know why Tool Man and Boring Ray bother standing, but then what else would they do?! 🤭 I picked up a coffee on the way, but it went cold after I made the mistake of asking Captain Birdseye about his health 😵‍💫 Nobber Al had knocked for the third week in a row, and may well be packing it in. I arrived just as Big J was leaving, but then Melbourne, one of the old Teds, who moved to York 5 years or so back, turned up with his missus, and he had half an hour with us while she went to do some shopping. Gravel turned up around the same time, and Tool Man was forced into sharing the pork pie he'd just purchased, which he only did very begrudgingly.

The cold soon got the better of Gravel and Melbourne, and they departed. I stuck it out for an hour and a half, but had a few things to do in town, so I headed off. In the market, I decided to warm up with some chips, bumping into Golden Gordon, who was having a coffee with a friend.

I bought some parkin from Our Cake Man, who I had a chat with, and then went for a coffee, before taking care of my errands. I have a bit of work to do this afternoon, but am glad to be back indoors 👍

There are many excellent photographers on BF (I am very much not one of them, but I can appreciate welll-composed pics), and you are one of the very best. All your pics are great - even if your knives were mediocre (and they are all quite lovely), your pics would still look good.

Thanks buddy, have to see if it has been outlawed! 🙄😁👍

I'd certainly never seen one before today Steve, and it's a very interesting knife 😎 I don't recall ever seeing an IXL Harness Jack, though Charlie, or one of our other HJ collectors may have. I'd love to know more of the history. I may have a look in my Australian knife book, but I suspect that if there was one in there, I'd have already noticed it. Thanks for sharing Steve 👍

At least you're ready for next Christmas Jer 😉👍

If you can believe Google AI, it says IXL did Mae harness jacks, usually in bone.
I have an IXL harness jack, but, with black plastic handles, not bone. I can't post it here as it is not a lamb foot.
Back to carrying my original Charlie lamb foot.

I would have done Tyson, but the thought of Tool Man blubbing down the phone was too much to bear! 😂
Good market report!
Thanks mate, never much happening these days sadly :(
Morning Guardians! Hope y'all's is going well. Thanks for the market report Jack. Always enjoy seeing the Chieftain. Off to get a ultrasound on my liver and the last iron infusion in a bit. Happy trails 🤠

Feel free to use your discretion Dan, or post it in the HJ thread, and add a link here  That's a classic :)

Thanks Jack. Much too kind with that comparison.
Here's my tribute Bob! 😂 ;)👍

Hartshead Barlow (Stag) 36-2.JPG

Blimey, it sure took me a long time to find that pic! I have well over 3000 pics of my Hartshead Barlow alone! :D

While I was looking for the pic, I also came across the slightly topical one below :D Never mind how young Bill Murray looks, look how young my Barlow looks! :D

Wow. That quite recent movie must be pretty old.
Here's another one I loved so much I watched it so many times that it's all internalized.

I only saw that movie once as a kid Jer, completely by chance, but I was fishing-mad at the time, and so really loved it! 😁

Repro I'm afraid, but Boring Ray had this old kid's typewriter still in the original box! 😎 By coincidence, I was telling someone about these just the other day 😃

Tool Man’s Pie sounds like a good band name. Thanks for the Market Report Jack. 72 degrees here this morning but it feels like speedo weather…shorts at least. Grabbed this Toole while I sit out back with the critters. Happy Market Day.

Good idea Kurt! 😁 Tool Man probably wouldn't make any money if he went into the pie business though! 🤣 That's a pleasant temperature my friend, and a great-looking knife 👍
I have already posted it there some time ago. Page 117, post #2331, if this link doesn't work correctly

Sorry Jack Jack Black Jack Black , I thought that just a clickable link would come through, not the post and all the pictures. I can delete it if you would like.
I think he probably would prefer that.
I think that's legitimate use, though if you can edit it to a link, that would be preferable Dan 👍 That punch has jogged my memory, I have a 1930's Wostenholm pattern with that same punch, and had already opined in a PM to the purchaser that I thought the knife was probably from the 30's. I'm sure we'll see it here, when he receives it 👍
