Very unusual Jer
I believe Charlie used a similar Sheffield made lamb as inspiration for his lamb foot knives?Nice haul. The shape and jigging on that Wostenholm really remind me of Charlies lamb
Thanks Paul.Great to see you made it homedanno50 . Those are some great lambs you picked up.
Thanks Steve.Nice pick ups, congrats !![]()
Thanks Jack.Glad you had a great time, and returned with a good haul Dan, nice finds my friend![]()
I was just thinking the same![]()

Great Knives Dan, Paul said you had a talent for picking up Lambsfoot knives...
Maybe that talent is a bit deadlier than we think....
Paul was saying that he had some real sore ribs- he remembers reaching for a Lambsfoot, but felt this crashing pain in his side- once he got off his one knee and gathered himself- the knife was gone, Paul did say it was strange because he saw Dan with it later on
I too remember the year before, just in the beginning stages of reaching for a KeenKutter - it was a nice one and I got this searing pain in my temple... took me a while to come round, but saw Dan posting it later on, Maybe Dan just missed what happened and picked up the knife soon after? ......................... I dunno

Thanks CharlieNice Harvest, Dan!!!
Love that horn! Wow.Thanks for the report Jack. It sounds like Tool Man is undernourished at home. Maybe his wife wants him to do some cleaning for some cooking. He really had the feed bag on at the Market.

Thanks for the market report buddy. Good pic of SchultzI hope everyone is having a good dayI was Hisham's first customer again this morning, but not by much. His staff were late yet again, so he was putting the tables out on the pavement himself. Those boys want to pull their socks up before they're looking for other jobs
After drinking my coffee, and giving Hisham £10 in change, I headed down to the market, where Tool Man and Boring Ray were waiting. Tool Man had already eaten several sandwiches, a family sized custard tart, a large bear-claw (called an 'elephant's foot' here), and was just finishing off a large pork pie. Shortly after, Gravel arrived with a bag of doughnuts, and Tool Man tucked into those too.
Ex-Para Steve was talking to Nobber Al, and me and Steve ended up talking guns and ammo for some reason. Then, me and Tool Man walked down to talk to Golden Gordon and Robert The Badge. Robert was talking badges, and showed me a ship in a bottle he had.
Back at the stall, Harry Hotballs turned up, and we ended up talking about his origins in the rotten village of Featherstone. I've only passed through it once, but I think Featherstone is the only place I know of that I've never heard a good word about! Harry told us more horrible details about the dreadful place
Captain Birdseye called by, and we talked about health and hammers, and then Big J, who never has anything interesting to say, stopped by for a long 10 minutes.
Gravel was going to buy some fish, and I accompanied him, as I wanted to get some bread. I said I'd see him back at the stall, and by the time I got back, he was tucking into a huge portion of mixed bhajis with Tool Man. Obviously Tool Man was doing most of the work, and splattering yoghurt sauce all over the stall, and himself
With some work to do at home, I thought I'd slip away at this point, returning home via the pharmacy, where I needed to pick up my bi-monthly prescription.
I'm going to have a cup of Yorkshire, then try to get my work finished

The Wostenholm jigging looks remarkably similar; but I used a Joseph Rodgers as a model!!! Go Figure!!Nice haul. The shape and jigging on that Wostenholm really remind me of Charlie's lamb
![]()
Yes, a handsome Joseph Rodgers model that he still hasI believe Charlie used a similar Sheffield made lamb as inspiration for his lamb foot knives?
I forgot to mention the huge slab of ginger parkin that was sitting there on the stall. He probably had that after lunch! Thanks for the report Jack. It sounds like Tool Man is undernourished at home. Maybe his wife wants him to do some cleaning for some cooking. He really had the feed bag on at the Market.

Thanks very much Duncan. Willem made another beauty. I am getting another in some streaky buffalo horn just like it so I’ll have a matching pair. I want to get one of those Working Man’s lambsfoot too. I guess the rams horn one could be called a Retired Man’s lambsfoot.Kurt this knife is really quite a work of art- love it!
Mercy sakes! What a trioTook me a few hours to catch up with this thread after being away for a week at the OKCA show. I had a really great show, meeting up with old friends and buying a few knives. I spent a few hours trying to get pictures this afternoon, but, overcast and dull here and my camera does not work well with that. I was surprised to find not only one, but, three lamb foot knives a the show. Barrett scooped up the only one that was there last year. I picked up a two blade Eye Witness with black plastic handles, an older Needham and a large (4" closed) IXL Wostenholm. Here is a not so good picture. Once the sun comes out in a few days I will get better pictures of them. I also picked up 2 of the new GEC #41s, with the lamb foot secondary.

Verah niceGreat to see you made it homedanno50 . Those are some great lambs you picked up.
At work for my last shift until Monday. Thought I’d slip the Cosimo in the pocket tonight. Had a peek at the Phillies score and my goodness they stunk up the place today. How about they just don’t lose by 9 runs every game
.
Hope everyone had a great day.

My good knee hurts like Hades from two hours at church last night, the sound bench being too low for my knees and too shallow for my legs.
The handbill did say concert, instead of program or recital or tintinabulous vignette, so I was forewarned it would be long. Not that that cheered me up much.
Even so, I recommend the Forte Handbells Quartet very highly. They are talented, skilled, entertaining, and in love with what they do. Four performers and probably not quite a hundred bells, on the table in front of them and the steps behind them and on racks in the four corners of the sanctuary.
None of the things my knee was reminded of would be fair to mention:
Much of the action takes place from a horizontal row, so performing seals.
Much of the action takes place from behind a long table, and they get pretty frenetic, so Monty Python's "mouse organ".
Something my dad said about harpsichord music: "You can see why the pianoforte took over".
How seldom my mom could stand to hear our LP, A Music Box Christmas. ping ping ping
But seriously, they're great. Check them out.
StunningThanks for the report Jack. It sounds like Tool Man is undernourished at home. Maybe his wife wants him to do some cleaning for some cooking. He really had the feed bag on at the Market.
