Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

Thanks very much Duncan. Willem made another beauty. I am getting another in some streaky buffalo horn just like it so I’ll have a matching pair. I want to get one of those Working Man’s lambsfoot too. I guess the rams horn one could be called a Retired Man’s lambsfoot.
Wow- well that gives us all something to look forward to ( in seeing them once they arrive).

I always love reading the Market catch ups with your friends Jack- always funny and interesting!
Love the Lambsfoot, who made this one Jack? I can't quite read the tang stamp 👓
Thanks Duncan, we don't have the crowd we used to down there :(

The Lamb is from Solingen, quite unusual. Markings indicate the 20's/30's interwar period, when Germany still had a large cutlery industry, but the English market didn't want to openly buy German-made goods. I like the way the stamp says 'Foreign Make', rather than 'Foreign Made', which is like the 'Sheffield Make' mark sometimes found on older Sheffield knives. The knife is light, with thin blade stock, and simply made, probably a real cheapie, which it would have had to be to compete with so many inexpensive Sheffield-made knives still widely available at that time. I've always wondered if it was anything to do with Richartz, with their unique link to Sheffield, but have no information to say it was

Great market report Jack!

You have to fill your script every 14 days, that’s a pain.
My BP meds I can get 60 days in 1 visit at the chemists which is ironic.
As the government recently reduced the bulk pack of paracetamol from 100 to 50. Due to overdose or suicde risk.
Hmm which is more potent 60 BP or 50 paracetamol 🤔🤔🫣 someone thought it was logical.
Thanks mate :) Sorry for using such a misleading term as bimonthly (with 2 mutually exclusive meanings) Mitch. I pick up my script every 2 months, though if I have a new item added, it usually takes them months to synchronise things for some reason  Fortunately, the chemist is just at the bottom of my road
Thanks buddy! I really appreciate it 👍 I get tested again in a month to see if it's done any good 🤠
I really hope it does David 🤞👍

Good morning Guardians, Friday already! :D I need to get some printing done, and pick up a few things from town, but I am in no hurry ;) Kind of overcast outside at the moment, but hopefully the sun will break through as the morning progresses. I've not had L'Ariete in my pocket this week, so putting that right today :) Have a good day Guardians

Enjoy your day Jack.

Does the horn seem stable without shrinkage. I contemplate a horn cover but worry about changes in gaps.

Thanks buddy, you too 😊 Ram and sheep horn seems to be more stable than cow/water buffalo horn, but I think it is mostly down to climate I think Bob, (and storage), with hot, dry conditions potentially drying out the horn. Even when shrinkage or warping occurs, it's generally reversible though. How is the horn on your 2018 sample knife fairing? If that is OK, I don't think you need to worry too much 👍
Fast patina! 😁 Love the pics my friend 😎👍
The storm had slackened by the time I thought of my camera:

The white stuff is hail:

The biggest, loudest, and most protracted hail, perhaps, that I've ever witnessed.
Nice to live a sheltered life.

Yikes! Glad you were indoors Jer 😊👍

The 18 is doing well, so perhaps I will try some in the near future.

As to the lamb, I forgot to wipe it off, getting sidetracked helping with dinner. A lemon chicken, couscous affair.

The other thing is that horn is very well-seasoned now. You didn't always know with Wright's 🙄 I'm sure Cosimo will take more care 🙂 Guardian Dave Horsewright Horsewright uses a lot of horn, and we've all seen his work, but GEC didn't want to touch it 👍

Sounds delicious Bob 😋 I have 'Go Faster Stripes' on some of my hiking Lambs, from where I've wiped them quickly on my bandana! 😖😁👍
😳
I’m reading this why I wait for the footy to restart, delayed due to lightning strikes, it’s 9.20 Friday night.
That's going to finish late! 😱🥱 I remember a player being struck during a match when I was a kid! 😱
I almost went out to hear the hail on my cowboy hardhat, but I realized I'd have wanted an even broader brim. Like three or four feet.

LOL! Would that brim keep a Corona dry Jer? 😁👍
