I always think of this Bluesbreaker album and never heard of the comic until then.

Sunday evening I ventured out to a show again. Saw Richard Thompson a couple of Sundays ago but this Sunday it was Gillian Welch and David Rawlings doing the Dead’s Reckoning album. I remember going to some of the shows it was recorded from at the Warfield in SF in 1980.
It reminded of a hootenanny. I really enjoyed the crowd especially all the young people who instantly recognized the tunes and often sang along.
And everyone was dancing. The venue is beautiful, an old rock quarry on the UCSC campus. I want to take my niece to see JRAD when they play it. She’ll think I’m cool.

After 4 days delay, Lowes is finally delivering rubber mulch for granddaughter's play area. We paid for same day delivery.
Last week I had to call the corporate offices after 3 day delay on lumber. You would think I would learn and go somewhere else!!View attachment 3165836
Thanks Steve. You can't count on anything these days
Nice pic Bob.

Thanks Steve.
The store survives because of it is convenient to the neighborhood.
Good luck Steve.Good morning Guardians !
In preparation for phase two of the Painting job I'm project managing, I'll be meeting with the painting company today. We will be having the second half of all our townhouse buildings done this year including the community center and pool area. Hopefully they can get started in the next couple of weeks weather permitting.

Thanks Jack. Going on the blade alone I wouldn't have guessed quite that early?I did say EARLY 20th centuryIf I recall correctly, Wostenholm didn't start producing a Lambsfoot UNTIL the 20th century. I haven't seen that model in a catalogue (@herder may know better), but it may not have been in one, and as I've said before, Sheffield cutlers often produced the same patterns for decades. A broad guess would be 1930's, but trying to date Sheffield knives without examining them is always a daft move

Because of the condition, style, or kick Dan? I could very easily be wrong! Thanks Jack. Going on the blade alone I wouldn't have guessed quite that early?

Partly because of the condition, although I know that is not a good indicator. Partly because of the kick, although SteveC says that none of his IXLs have a square kick. Partly because there is no stamp on the blade. A lot of Wostenholms I have seen have IXL stamped on the blade. These factors combined and really just the general feel and appearance of the blade?Because of the condition, style, or kick Dan? I could very easily be wrong!Don't forget that after 1939, Britain was at war, and the Sheffield steel works and cutlery firms were only allowed to do 'War Work'. I'm not sure how many years after 1945 that situation continued, but steel shortages may have prevented production of the larger size of Lambsfoot until the 1950's
Rationing continued in Britain until the mid 50's
