Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

Man it’s hot today. Creeping up to near 80 degrees!!!!! Taking my Dad out for a round of golf on Thursday for his birthday and I’m pretty excited. It will be our first round of the season. Old Man Winter is gone…… I think 🤣.

Working my regular night shift and got this nice A Wright with me.

Memories on the course. Great!!
Very nice grain and filing Paul.

Great lookin lamb, Willem. I think AEB-L is great stuff. If someone is looking for stainless I don’t know you can do much better in a traditional.
Thank you kindly! And I agree with you - having used that little Lamb extensively for the past few weeks, I think it is a great steel for traditional knives. I just love how it takes a fine edge, how well it holds it and responds to stropping. It acts almost like a high carbon steel, while being stainless. Just love it!

Because it likes me.

AEB-L is easy to work, has good corrosion resistance, adequate wear resistance when hardened above 60 HRC, and excellent toughness, allowing thin geometry without compromising edge stability. Grind it thin, cuts like a laser, sharpens in a heartbeat.
I couldn't agree more Dave, having used that little Lambsfoot extensively for the past few weeks. I just love the steel, love the edge it takes, and I love how well it responds to just a stropping

Good Tuesday morning, Guardians. I had a fun productive work trip to Hollywoodland last week. Here’s a photo of Dorothy’s Rainbow from Oz on the Sony Columbia studio lot. View attachment 3165979

Cool all-round Dave!
Partly because of the condition, although I know that is not a good indicator. Partly because of the kick, although SteveC says that none of his IXLs have a square kick. Partly because there is no stamp on the blade. A lot of Wostenholms I have seen have IXL stamped on the blade. These factors combined and really just the general feel and appearance of the blade?
Definitely not questioning your estimate and reasoning. I have very little experience or knowledge re Wostenholm other that what I read in my reference books.
I just paged through the Wostenholm section of my Sheffield Exhibition Knives and not a single square kick, so I am out to lunch on that one.
The knife does have steel bolsters, so I believe your estimate of 1930s makes the most sense.
Thanks for indulging me in this.
Do you think the blade might have been re-polished Dan, hard to tell from the pic?
Mornin Guardians! Hope y'all have a good day. All this IXL talk got me to dig this one out to carry today 🤠

Hope your dad has a great birthday on THursday Paul, and that you have an equally good round of golf  Nice to see one of the Dam-Lambs :)
Beautiful
I’ll probably duff it all over the place. Got to clear the rust. Thanks, Bob. This knife was a kind gift from echoscout echoscout
Very generous :)
Afternoon all
Glad to see you're eating your greens mate! :)

Good morning Guardians, I hope everyone is having a good week. I have a week tasks to perform indoors today, but hopefully, I'll manage to get out at some point. Wolfie should be back from his family vacation in Holland, so I might give him a ring. He had to go straight back to work, so he'll probably be too busy to escape for a coffee, but maybe we can meet up later in the week. Carrying this Twisted Assisted Lamb today. Have a good one Guardians

Only eat the greens if it’s given to me,
I’m just the grower 😁
Have a great day.

This one is not Damascus, Jack. But that knife is number one on my hit list 😂
Ahh sorry Paul, I think I've made that mistake before! 🫣😁👍
Thanks Jack

LOL! 😁 For the past decade or so here, there's been a fashion for resaurants and some cafes to garnish everything they serve with pea-sprouts 🤨
