Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

I'm still 10 pages behind (but less than 48 hours behind :eek:) in trying to read all the posts in this thread, but since we're already past midweek, I thought I should at least post a photo of my lambsfoot for this week, the 2018 Guardians ebony I call Black Jack. This photo is from last June, when the knife was almost new:

But I’m hoping the Glamour level around here will increase considerably, soon!:D

Chin with your photos the 'glamour' level is increased

So Nice. Congratulations.

Mine won’t be here for a while, but that’s ok. I’ll feast me eyes on the bounty of others. That, and I came across this one which will arrive also next week. It came about because of the conversation here, regarding the dying art of Sheffield jigging. I never saw what seemed to me a most unusual jigging. It’s marked Albert Oates, a firm I know nothing about. The gentleman who sold it from his collection, said the blade was forged. True or false, I knew I wanted it the moment I saw it.

I like that knife and it's jigging, great score!

Thank you Herder, my friend. But snow? What is this ‘snow’ you speak of?:D:):p

Great pictures Chin, much different than the weather here.

I know, I'll get an avatar soon, just have to choose a nice pic  ;)
I know you'll find one of that beautiful Ironwood Lambsfoot
Frozen garden this morning, it's so peaceful to go outside early and just listen to the silence of winter...

That right there is a very nice picture!
Good Morning Guardians
Morning John, I paid the lowest rate and must have to wait...not easy!
It is early afternoon here, and I am hoping that a few more of this year's Guardians knives will arrive at their new homes :) I am carrying my AC

Jack, every time I see that knife I know that my next one must be stag.

Well I finally found a new knife I really like it's a new Joseph Rogers Barlow Lambsfoot. I just now requested the amount for shipping fees and hope to have it ordered by the end of the day. The bolster makes me think of a Northfield 77 Barlow.

That's a unique Barlow Lambsfoot for sure, Randy, is it a recent production?

Morning, Guardians, it's -7* F here, but, the sun is shinning!. We are dressed for it, but won't be staying out long. Have a wonderful day and here's hoping many, many of us get the 2019 Ironwood Lambsfoot. Preston

I paid for the cheapest shipping option, so I'm probably a few days away from seeing mine.

I don't think the lower shipping rate would increase the wait time. It was just to add tracking and additional insurance.
I wait along side you. And yes, the waiting is the hardest part.:(

Extremely interesting all round

The jigging looks like a weave/plait effect and I almost thought it was jigged Stag at first! A real capture :D

Thanks, Will
Thank you Will.

@Mescladis Thank you. Not sure, but I believe the blade is three inches.

pjsjr pjsjr Thank you Preston. Nice thoughtful touch with the knife hat:)

Jack Black Jack Black Thank you for the great information. The Guardians are bringing me back to school and research.

Nice picture Jack, it looks cold there.

Thanks John, we have had it all today

A special procedure for special knives! ;) I think their just messing with me because they know I’m over 500 miles away from home! Pams going to the post office this afternoon and check with them. They usually leave a slip of paper with the pickup instructions but they didn’t do anything like that this time!

Hopefully it'll get to you soon Ron

Mark is right gents, I don't think it'll make any difference. I rarely check tracking anyway, the info is often wrong, and can drive you crazy!

What are the covers Randy, sometimes wood, sometimes synthetic (blades are stainless)?

Great pic Preston! :D

Thanks for the info, I'm in between the coasts, I know of one member living in an adjoining state that has received his so maybe mine's close!

In my experience, there's neither rhyme nor reason to how the knives will arrive. Hope everyone gets theirs soon though. Also hope that a few more people remember the ordering conditions and let me know by email

I'm glad it was of interest my friend, a have a couple of old knives by Albert Oates myself, and they are nicely made. The photo was taken at the family's home, which is at least two miles from Albert's workshop, so I guess he had a walk at either end of his working day. Probably considered quite a small one in those days. I presume the boy at his side is young Frederick William :) Albert left more than £500 when he died, not a huge sum, but very respectable for a small cutler of that time

Drum roll please.............

After checking my mail today I had this waiting for me....

Pile side has a ton of depth and colors hard to capture in a photo with non-natural lighting. Beautiful.

And then the show side....stunner just amazing. I don't know what to say.
Perfect centering. Perfect snap, strong pull that I like. Amazing knife!!!! Cheers to Jack and thanks a million times my friend. To the Guardians, thanks for being the best place to post in the forums!

My package arrived today!

Heartfelt thanks to Jack Black Jack Black !!!!!

So much thought and care went into the packaging of this knife. Such an easy process. The tin and button are a great touch.

I got so lucky with this beautiful knife. Great construction and the wood grain is really stunning.

Haha, I was on the fence for this one but coudn't pull the trigger since I had to choose between that one or the 2019 Lambsfoot and couldn't afford both. And then I saw it had been sold. But you know, I KNEW it had to be to a Guardian ;-)
I was intrigued by the very large blade, which made it look almost like a sheepfoot despite the 'Real Lamb Foot' etch, and the horn seemed to have a nice potential. I'm glad you picked it up, please post it regularly here ;)

See you all later for more pics of my 2019 Lambsfoot! :D

Mail Call!

Thanks go to Jack Black Jack Black for making this happen!
