I woke up with a headache today, maybe from breathing too much carpet glue last night. The installers were still working when our volunteer church-cleaning crew leapt into action. I'm glad I didn't stay longer. We really should have said, "Forget it".

Good morning Guardians, it seems kind of quiet here, I hope everyone is having a great weekend. I'm still tired from Friday, travelling seems to take a lot out of me these days, and my feet ache a lot. I bought some expensive Asics training shoes recently, hoping they'd be comfortable, with their gel inserts. I've had Asics in the distant past, and found them good, but these aren't, they're uncomfortable even to stand in It's sunny here again, and I might go out for a bit later, but so far, I have nothing planned. I hope you all have a good Sunday

I found the most comfortable walking shoes a couple of years ago. They have a rocker type sole on them. I used to have a lot of trouble with pain in my big toes and with these shoes the pain is gone. They have spoiled me for other shoes.
Maybe try a similar shoe with the rocker type sole.

Thanks for the tip Mitch, I'm always on the look-out for comfortable shoes. I find my Red-Backs very good, but they're a bit too hot for the summer

Maybe try a similar shoe with the rocker type sole.

Waboom is a looker

Thanks a lot Steve, I have quite a few shoes like that, and they are comfortable to walk in, but this past year or two, I have developed painful spurs on the sides of my feet, in addition to my other foot problems. They are at a point where they often rub against an internal construction ridge in shoes, and it isn't always possible for me to tell if they're going to be comfortable for me to wear or not I have generally got on with Hi-Tec shoes though (boots less so)

I think those Hitec's are kind of a Hoka clone. The soles kind of wear out quickly but I got them for $20 a pair from Costco a couple years ago and ended up buying four pairs. I still have one new pair in the box.

I used to wear tennis shoes a lot as a kid, but in recent years, I find that flat soles leave me in agony

Nice. If I find something I like, I generally buy a few pairs. I lucked into some Merrell trail shoes in a sale a few years back, and bought 4 pairs



I have just been to Charlie's in these, of which I have 2 pairs. They're comfortable, but not as spongy underfoot as a running shoe. The reason for that is (like a lot of stuff ), they were supposedly made for undercover SWAT teams, so they have harder soles, and are quite hard-wearing. They were produced in green, grey, and black, and since all those tactical types bought them in black, I got a pair in green, and another in grey, at about a third of the original retail price
