Hope you have a good day buddyGood morning Guardians, I hope that everyone had a great weekend. Nothing much on my agenda today, but I'm going to go into town to get a bit of shopping, and to call in the bank. First stop, Charlie's cafe of courseIt looks like another nice day here
I'm carrying Schultz, my Teutonic Lambsfoot (with a rather feeble nail-nick)
Have a great day Guardians

Schultz and
Summer green
Nice BexIt's sixty degrees here, so I would throw open my windows, but the air is unhealthy for all.
I wonder if we'll be plagued by Canadian dust storms after Canada's all been burned down to the dirt. (I don't mean to suggest that this is Canada's fault.)
I might have a repro cast iron toy road-watering wagon downstairs, but I'm not going to go looking for it.

Not when I have a professionally designed firefighter's whacker right here under my bed.
Made between the wars Charlie, so it doesn't boast about being German, even though the stamp indicates it very obviously is. The 'search' function being what it is, it took me a while to find the full tale behind the nameIs it "Schultz" because it's German, Jack??
I decided to name my Lambsfoot 'Schultz' after a local legend I once heard about in Sheffield. During the 1980's, in Sheffield, a number of armed robberies took place, supposedly masterminded by a German criminal named Schultz. Schultz was stereotypically Teutonic, a large, powerful man, with cropped blond hair, and a thick accent. He always wore a long black leather coat. His gang was totally dedicated to him, and he ruled them with an iron will. However, after his eventual arrest, it turned out that Schultz was, in reality, a native Sheffielder, with an ordinary English name. In reality, he couldn't speak more than a few words of German! At first, his gang refused to believe they had been taken in, some of them had apparently known him for years. His parents were interviewed by the BBC, but Schultz claimed they were imposters, and absolutely denied the disclosures about his real identity, continuing to speak in his 'comedy German'. Old school friends were also interviewed, but Schultz denounced them as liars. After a short trial, he received a long prison sentence, but even this did not make him see reality, and apparently he kept up the fantasy throughout his time in jail, with most of his fellow prisoners assuming he was German. I don't know anymore than that I'm afraid, it was a local story, of no national significance, and occurring when it did, I have found nothing about it on the internet, apart from a very occasional mention of 'Schultz' or 'Schultzy' by someone who served time with him. However, it's one of the craziest stories I've ever heard![]()
Glad it worked out OK Dave, interesting picHot one today. 87F by 10:30 A.M.
Here in Missouri we don't have a Dept. of Motor Vehicles (DMV), we have a Dept. of RevenueLicense offices are mostly run by private contractors (political patronage), but being near the capital I went to a state employee run office this morning to renew my driver's license. It was a painless experience. Reasonably fast, with polite staff with good attitudes. Its always nice when things work the way they should

NiceGood morning Guardians !
We got a bit of much needed rain early this morning. Our heat wave continues with another day over 90Β°, the tenth day in a rowIt's supposed to cool down into the eighties tomorrow and the dewpoints to drop as well. It will be a nice break from the tropical heat.
Have a great day everyone !
