It's very well-filmed, and well worth going to see. Most of the ommissions and minor changes I thought acceptable, but post-Calypso it seems rushed, the fight with the suitors, messy, and they changed the ending! 🫣

LOL! 😂 It was TERRIBLE David, the pub was a dump too, the staff clearly couldn't give a damn 🙄 Talk about presentation! That's not a half-eaten meal, that's how it came, and it had been nuked so much in the microwave I burned my mouth! 😖
 
Good morning Guardians, I hope that everyone is well. Exhausted from my trip to Bradford, I had an early night, and had a wonderful sleep after accidentally taking a Zanex with my evening medication! 🫣 Apart from my hunt for pizza, and the thrills of the movie, what wore me out was the seating in the IMAX cinema, which is part of the National Science and Media Museum in Bradford. When it was built, in 1983, it was the first in Europe, but back then IMAX films were novelties - and SHORT. Christopher Nolan’s film of The Odyssey, the first feature-length movie to be recorded entirely on IMAX is 3 hours long. The seats in the theatre aren’t uncomfortable, but it is very much of its time, and the purpose for which it was designed, and there’s no room to stretch out your legs. Even before the film finally started, I had been in my seat for 40 minutes, and the cinema was packed. An hour in, I was in considerable pain, which only got worse over time. So, I don’t think I’ll be going back to that particular theatre anytime soon!

After my awful culinary adventures, there was some light-relief on the way home, when a Chaplinesque drunk got onto the bus. He was Eastern European, incredibly drunk, and dragging a large pink suitcase, which he dragged behind him like he didn’t know it was there. He spoke very little English, but kept apologising as he bumped into everything on the bus, which was thankfully empty. The pink suitcase was a cheap moulded kind, with a broken zip, only barely held together with blue tape, and its contents, which turned out to be an array of power-tools, kept spilling out all over the floor of the bus. The man was so incapably drunk, he struggled to get them back into the case, which no longer had any rigidity to it, and they fell out repeatedly. He decided to get off the bus at the stop after he got on, spilling them all out again twice on the way to the door!

My easy week continues, thankfully, no work as yet, and I’m not going looking for any! Have a good day Guardians :thumbsup:

Thanks Jeff, I don't really think they have considered the practicalities of showing longer features at that cinema, or they have chosen to ignore them. The excruciating lack of leg room also meant that nobody could get out to the bathroom, without up to half a row having to stand up, and block the screen. There have always been epics, but the average running time of movies gets longer and longer. In the past, there was an intermission mid-film, where people could get an ice-cream or whatever, and longer movies were shown over 2 nights. I can see why theatres wouldn't like the latter solution, but they'd make money off an intermission. I do wish they'd bring them.back 👍
