Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

Great pair of photos with each of your Lambsfoot knives in that sunlit plant, Preston.:cool:

Yeah, I know what you mean, I’ve been trying to get caught up on this thread for the last few days. It seems I’d get through a bunch of pages, then drift off to sleep each night with only three more to go, then the next night there’d be another 10 new pages on top of that!:D

Tonight I persevered, and finally managed to get caught up!;)

Thanks to all the Guardians who comtributed to the great read.

Ok, I’m dropping a few pics in here, then it’s off to the land of Nod!

This one’s recycled from Barrett’s Imitation Is the Sincerest Form of Flattery GAW thread:

(Sorry, no prizes for guessing who this one is copying!)

And another of my ol’ reliable Ebony out on a walk last week:

Ok, I’m off to sleep, I’ll catch up with youse all soon, my friends!;):)

I think it took me an hour and a half to catch up this morning!

Thanks my friend, those are great pics, as usual :) Sweet dreams

As it is an English made knife how about nice English Oak handle scales?

Yes, been discussed before, I'd definitely like to use that sometime

Tried to PM you but your mailbox is full. You have to clear it. You only get 15 messages with Basic but 250 with Gold.

To clear, you have to click on 'Leave Conversation'. You can do a whole bunch by clicking each conversation you want to delete. HTH.

Aha! I'd thought conversations was something different. I can find those.
Thanks, guys.

Very nice Greg, I forgot to take my camera out with me today :(

Thank you, Jack. It's one of the few knives that see real pocket time. My horn lambsfoot has a near exclusive lease on my RFP. ;)

Oh! Jack, if you could source the slabs from reclaimed ale casks, we could have a REAL ALE REAL LAMBSFOOT. I would so love to have one of those. :)

Today, it's me and Emmylou - even though it's 31 degrees F
Pretty sure she's Rosewood but like other things, the memory gets shorter as I get older

I can appreciate that OG, but that does look like Rosewood

I know you are very fond of that one Greg :) I was looking at an old real ale barrel just the other week, with that exact thought in mind ;) It led to a really interesting conversation with a retired cooper

Curly birch is a beautiful wood for a handle material. Has it ever been used on a lambsfoot? A little Scandinavian perhaps, but definitely traditional.

Not so far as I know, but certainly a very attractive wood

Spending time at the in-law’s house.

Wow! Great pic of a lovely knife Alan, that stag has fantastic character

I thought about trying the wood from vintage pit-props, since coal mining was also a big local industry around Sheffield, but it seems that the wood used for them was primarily spruce, and so not really suitable.

Good morning, Guardians. (or afternoon or evening)

This image is making me so weak... I MUST have an ebony lambsfoot!

Ebony is certainly a weakness of mine as well, it's a shame that it is in shorter supply these days.

Pàdruig Pàdruig You’re Ebony is what drew me to this wood.

Another wonderful foto, Dylan! :cool::thumbsup:

Incredible photo Dylan, there's certainly no denying the beauty of that lovely dark wood :)

As usual Dylan, a terrific photo! :)

Thank you so much, fellas, for the kind compliments.

Today I’m going to have one of my 2017 Horn models in my pocket! Hope y’all have a great day! :D

I love seeing that one, Ron, it has such perfect feathering.

Love your Rosewood Jack.:thumbsup::D

I love the almost purple undertones in that Rosewood, Dave. Very nice picture.

Great horn posted today fellows!

Your knife and fungi pictures are always pleasing, Dwight. One of my favorite pastimes is mushroom hunting but I haven't been about it in almost a year. I will have to get after it soon as spring approaches.

I have long wanted to use some vintage Lignum Vitae, but need to pick up a couple of old lawn bowls

I know I have seen Lignum Vitae before but I had to go and look it up. It is a very pretty wood, not flashy like Ironwood, but deep and sensible all the same.

...not going to take the time to catch up...probably never will get caught up:(.

I am active in more than a few areas of the forum here and I am engaged in work and such so sometimes it can be a bit of a task getting caught up some days. It is usually worth the effort though. The content and people in this thread are matchless.
