Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

Mine today as I'm sitting at the G.I. Dr. :)oops:). Gloomy day, Gloomy Drs office, gloomy photo, but love carrying this one, and appropriate for a Drs visit...

Nice light-colored horn on that Lambsfoot. Is that a cudgel in case the doctor gives you any grief? :D

Nice pic Preston, and thank you :)
Thanks, Jack
I had a phonecall from Wright's earlier, and the second batch of 2019 Guardians Lambsfoot knives should be ready for me to collect on Thursday

Having a wee beer tonight ;)

There will be happy people knowing that their Ironwood Guardian knives will soon be on their way. Kudos to you Jack for doing such a great job of the demand for these great knives.
I figured it was time for a family picture. Now I need to get one in rosewood, but I want to make sure it is one with distinctly reddish scales instead of brown, which, from the pictures I have seen, is pretty much a coin toss when ordering unseen.

Such a handsome family, so well photographed!
I really like this knife but the placement of the nail nick and the shaped handle along with a strong pull makes this one a little too tough on the opening. I tried to capture it in the second pic. Hopefully as it breaks in it will become easier. Really like the rose wood handle. Any suggestions on break in besides the usual stuff, clean it up and lube the pivot.

Nice knife, I wrap the blade or wear a glove to work the blade up and down many, many times. My Rosie took days to break in...Iron Mike is taking a bit longer.
Good evening, Guardians.

Excellent pictures and post, @lambertiana. Though provoking stuff, for sure.

I've had my Ebony Lambsfoot close at hand today.

Nice, Dylan, such a wonderful photo of that beautiful Ebony handled Lambsfoot.
Just gorgeous Vince, never gets old seeing it.
Have a serene evening Guardians... View attachment 1076254
Dwight, that photo really has a pleasing composition.

While taking this pic, a big gust of wind came and blew Betty off the rail and she took a good 6 foot drop down into the loading dock. I hate wind!
Betty is a tough ol' gal and came away with nothing but a little scuff on the butt.:p:D
Great detail on the knife, Kevin, the patina is looking good!
I often take photos with my knives posed about rivers and precipitous drops, and it can be a nervous time! ;)

Gorgeous horn on that one Jack...don't drop it!
I thought I'd carry Rosewood today :) This is one of a short run of 10 Wright's made for me last year, with polished blades

Hope everyone's week is off to a good start
Nice wood on that one Jack!
Today I’m going to have one of my 2017 Horn models in my pocket! Hope y’all have a great day! :D

Their factories.

I'm a basic member ($10). If I have pm capacity I haven't found it.

Too much work.
I think I'm out of new pictures.

Cleared snow again yesterday. It isn't fun anymore, even with my new shovel.
The only thing I find fun about shoveling snow, is getting someone else to do it! Nice patina, Jer.
Thanks men. :)

:D

@flatblackcapo - Kevin Betty Beaut looks like a pretty tough salty gal.

Great horn posted today fellows!

Wonderful photo, Dwight...as usual.
Thanks, Guardians for the kind words about Betty's close call with complete annihilation (read that part with a dramatic echo ;) ) Hope you all have a splendid day.

Jack Black Jack Black I always like seeing that one and the placement in that pic makes me nervous just looking at it.
Watch out for that posh wind! ;):D

Fodderwing Fodderwing Dwight, nice pile side pic. Is that ground cover a kind of moss?

Great job capturing the wonderful patina!!
Said rosewood.

Y1nxzTjh.jpg
Really nice rosewood, good photo! It can be difficult to get said Rosewood to look Rosewood.
Hope you have a great day :) Is that LambCHOP and LambFOOT? ;) :D
Thanks, Jack. Close enough, it's Chops, but, responds to anything close!:D

Ok, I’m off to sleep, I’ll catch up with youse all soon, my friends!;):)
As usual, great photos, Chin. An oldie but a goodie...
Today, it's me and Emmylou - even though it's 31 degrees F
Pretty sure she's Rosewood but like other things, the memory gets shorter as I get older

Nice knife and photo OG, it didn't get above 20 degrees F. here today.
Spending time at the in-law’s house.

Great looking knife, well photographed.
Forgot to include my Lambsfoot for the day. I am in a bit of a mood for Stag so the AC is my pick for the day. I had to hastily snap a pic though as it is starting to rain again.

...because I would have wood on my steel and iron in my wood.

Wouldn't you?
Why, yes, I would!
Very interesting Dave :) I have a garden bench made, nearly 100 years ago, which is made from teak reclaimed from a British ship which was captured at the Battle of Trafalgar

qfOYBHw.jpg

I did have an ink blotter made from wood reclaimed from Admiral Jellicoe's flagship at the Battle of Jutland - it features in one of my 'Table' threads ;)

I might see if I can get get hold of some reclaimed oak from one of the old Sheffield cutlery factories, there are several currently being gutted and renovated for yuppie apartments.

They used it for submarine propellers I believe.

Very good Vince :)

Today's tipple ;)

Jack, congrats on 700 and counting!:thumbsup:
Hope all is well after the Dr.'s visit Dennis. Beautiful horn on that one.
Absolutely beautiful day outside, spending some time with my Lambsfoot...
John you got that Rosewood to really show off, great photo.

The only thing I find fun about shoveling snow, is getting someone else to do it! Nice patina, Jer.
Thank you.
Yeah, the only shoveling I really enjoy is when it's packed down in plates. I set my heel and lunge, and the icy snow explodes and flies before me. And I try not to let it get like that.
We have a new ordinance requiring us to maintain the Township's sidewalks. Look at the example they set.

Nice photo! And no doubt that Rosie is cream of the crop!

Lovely horn and great choice for background!:)

Another great pic, Dave!:)
Growing up, I was a serious rock hound! Plus my dad was a miner, so he'd bring me home some great rocks!:thumbsup:

The snow may be ugly, but a great backdrop for the great looking Lamb!;)

Beautiful photo, even if it's unknown background! Great eye!:thumbsup:

Ahh! Cool photo! Is she (the Lamb) named Inara ?:D:thumbsup:

Loading dock is appropriate for such a rugged looking fella!

Very nice! She's on a pedestal!:cool::thumbsup:

Purdy shot of the pair of lambs! :p:thumbsup:

Wow! What a dandy old fellow! I tip my hat!:thumbsup:

Emmylou! They named a singer after her!:)
Seems like a perfect song for her:

Very good idea, but the blade would have to double in length to get the whole name! :D:thumbsup:

Perfect setting! Get any fishing in?

Just another wonder you pulled out of your sleeve

That Iron and Wood is glowing Good!!:thumbsup:

You may be going to the Dr., but in great style. Nice ensemble.

@I’m enjoying looking at your knife

@Ah yes. A familiar picture. I still remember when snow brought great joy.

Great post from you all, I'm sure I missed some...it was not intentional.

I got back from running my errands and began preparing the fixings for stew. I was using Rosie, but found that the blade is a bit to short for extended use in cutting up onion, celery and potatoes, especially potatoes. I resorted to the use of my eight inch chef's knife. I did add to her patina.

What I did cut with her she did well! It just would have taken to long, I was also worried about cutting my finger in one, two or three places:eek:

No photos of her in use as I'm not coordinating enough to do that and my hands were a mess:rolleyes:

Nice photos, Jer. You done good! Where I live I can just let the snow melt...no sidewalks, I'm on four acres in the country:cool: If the snow is deep enough to block Dutch's exit from the house to do his business, I might shovel some to give him an area of his own.

You may be going to the Dr., but in great style. Nice ensemble.

Thanks Dennis. Good luck on you upper and lower scope. Been there a few times myself. Most enjoyable... :D
Nice walking stick.
Thank you both very much! I figured a few years ago that if I HAVE to use a cane, might as well go in style! :D
And the Lambs are just a sheer joy to carry!
Oh no, that doesn't sound like a fun time!
Well, I guess as we get older, we get to take care of things like this!:( But better than the alternative!:)

Thinking of getting a cane with a silver wolf's head. Like Larry Talbot.

My lamb may not like it.

I love the garden bench Jack Black Jack Black . Did you build it Jack?

Thanks Dwight, it was built by a company in North East England in the 1920's. It has their name on the legs at the rear, and the name of the ship on a small plaque at the front. I came to have it in a rather bizarre and mysterious way. About 14 years ago, I had a friend staying with me for a few days, and decided to take them out for breakfast. I live in a very old area of Leeds, and just round the corner from me, the road ends where there was a large gated private estate, and a house belonging to the Middleton family, who have royal connections these days. In the middle of the road was sitting this lovely bench. We thought this very strange, but continued on our way, and went for breakfast. We came back the same way about an hour later, and the bench was still sitting there. Not too far away there used to be an old people's home, and I wondered if it belonged to them, and if perhaps some mischievous kids had pulled it out into the road. I went and rang the bell, and when a care-worker answered the door, I asked him if the bench belonged to the home. He said he didn't know, but he would go and ask. This seemed a bit strange, but I suggested we bring it in off the road, and put it in their garden because otherwise someone would just steal it. A few hours later, I went back round the corner, and the bench was still sitting there. I rang the bell again, and a different care-worker answered the door. She asked if I had come for my bench! I told her the story of what had happened, but she said they didn't want it, and that it couldn't stay where it was. I told her I only lived round the corner, and would put it in my garden, and if anyone asked about it to give them my address. I carried it back round with the help of a friend, and we left it in plain sight, but nobody ever came for it, and I never did find out why it had just been left in the street.

Perfect! I did notice one of the purveyors had what looked like a full skid of Oak beams.

Unfortunately, a lot of the wood just gets burned or taken to the dump :(

Fantastic pic my friend

Jack Black Jack Black Any thought of using reclaimed wood is a great one. The idea of honoring the cutlers, old Sheffield buildings, ale barrels, etc., says so many things on so many levels. I’d wager the repurposed wood would have much character. As for not matching, the Ironwood covers don’t, and each individual’s Lambsfoot is uniquely beautiful.

Prester John Prester John Another fine image.

@Dschal Aside from the warm, greatly lit image...So that’s what a Sunny day looks like. It also brings me back to the 1950s and my View-Master.
