Thank you fellas!

My son's a welder at a horse trailer outfit, he's very free with his critiques!
Kids these days...:D My dad was working on some "civil engineering" work (aka digging a shallow trench) last week and sent my brother (who is a civil engineer by education) and I a picture asking if it passed inspection. He said something to the effect, "I ain't no engineer but I did grow up on a farm". We all laughed...and agreed that the farm trumped any book smarts.

Another Ironwood checking in from snowy Nebraska! Apologies for the poor pictures.
I love the way this knife snaps to the open position. With authority!
I would like to thank Jack Black Jack Black for all his energy, enthusiasm, vision and legwork!:cool:

No such thing as a poor picture of a knife that nice. ;) The beauty shines through. It looks to me like even the more subdued pile side will show some warmth and depth in sunlight.

Gotta break it in, for sure! I've been carrying mine most days, and I can even pinch it open if my hands are dry.

Such a beauty.

Good morning y'all. With apologies Dylan. :D Have a great weekend Guardians.View attachment 1078343

No apologies necessary, Dwight. That is a terrific picture but you must tell me more about that old pipe... :D

Is the pull stronger than last year's, mine seems about the same? Some good tips in the 'Breaking In' section of the Index

I do have a higher resolution pic, but I'm struggling to upload it...hopefully we'll get there eventually

...in the meantime...

Whose is the one below Vince's, didn't that one land this week?

That big'un in Ebony looks fantastic, Jack! A very nice pairing with your Ivory. I am pleased your trip to Sheffield went well (aside from the somber news, my condolences) and it looks like you brought back some very attractive knives! I am sure their prospective owners will be very pleased.

I am enjoying the first libation of the weekend. Very much appreciated as it has been a very busy week. Tomorrow, I am going on a bus tour of all the breweries in Salem, Oregon (not a large city but it has enough breweries to keep us occupied and less than sober throughout the day). I will definitely have a Lambsfoot in the pocket but I haven't decided on which one.

This one is a strong candidate.

Beautiful grain on that one Mark. One of mine has the same pile side. Looks almost ebony it's so dark.

Thanks Dylan. I borrowed the pipe from my in-laws to use as a prop. My mother-in-law says the pipe belonged to her grandfather which would make it at least 50 yrs old. It looks like meerschaum to me but you would be better able to say than I? What's your thoughts on it?

Gonna try pinching it open myself. No way I can do it with my AC, but maybe this one.
