Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

What a wonderful family!
Are the three dark ones in the middle all ebony, or is the middle one rosewood?

Thank you, Vince! The 3 dark wood-clad ones you see in the middle are Ebony and Rosewood, the 2 on the left being Ebony and the one the right being Rosewood. The center one is indeed ebony despite looking at odds with the other two. A fine knife though and one I've made some good memories with.

Stupendous collection Dylan, some sleek looking examples.

What a spectacular lineup!:cool::thumbsup:

Thank you so much, fellas.

Tomorrow is my long day, as I'll be down the market by 7.30am :) I even picked up a few knives last week, and there's a promise of a few more this week too, have to see what transpires ;) I'll be carrying my ebony Big 'Un

Best of luck on your adventure, Jack! You have a very fine companion to accompany you.

I have had this one with me today. An oldie but a goody.

Playing catch up again - I’m so far behind though, that I thought I’d better drop in to say hello first!

Great pics Jack - that proto Guardian of Guardians knife is just spectacular.

Well, as long as you bring something from Sheffield with you, you should be alWright! :D:rolleyes:

I know how you feel, my friend.:(

What a spectacular lineup!:cool::thumbsup:

Yes, I saw it too Jer. Like others here, my recollection of the details are a little vague. I do like the original Nosferatu a lot. Those two films would work well as a back to back matinee.

Excellent photos of the lamb, en sol y sombre.

Nice pictures as usual Chin. That Whitby does not look like a true Lambsfoot to my untrained eye. Enlighten me.

Thanks Preston.

Yeah, that knife is one which I was amused to see in a hardware shop in Belfast city centre. Given that in Australia, hardware outlets are mostly all big Home Depot style places, owned by the same company, I was interested to see that in Ireland they are still largely independent concerns, owned and run by a local family.

You’re right, it’s very much a sheepsfoot blade, lacking the necessary taper of spine to edge out to the tip of the Real Lambsfoot blade.

I would guess the knife wasn’t made in England. I think it was actually marked ‘Italy’.

It’s interesting though, that in marketing this cheap tool aimed at gardeners and farmers, the hardware company chose to use the familiar Real Lambfoot designation.

It was horrid looking enough behind the glass, that I didn’t bother to ask to look at it, or consider buying it as a curiosity!

When you would see the rosewood A. Wright knives in these hardware shops, they were obviously aimed at the same market, and started at around the equivalent of $35USD.

Hard to put this one away.

Love the 2019. Some good looking wood.

I have been lavishing all my attention on the ironwood lambsfoot and this one got jealous, so I had to switch things out today.

Some more nice wood right here.

Sounds like a fun day. Good luck hunting down some deals.

Very cool picture.

Thanks John  It was off to a good start, then I went for breakfast and got appalling service and terrible food o_O

Lucy is super hot in the sun.

Woody and Uncle Albert no doubt have a posse...

+1

Cool lamb

I know the shop Chin, been inside a few times. Whitby have long stocked cheap kniives, then had them copied, so my guess is that is an even cheaper version of the awful CK 'Real Lambfoot'

Nice to see you're eating well comrade ;)

Good to see your old friend :)

Hey David, great to see you back :) Hope that's not the place you've been detained?! ;)

No pointy finds on the market I'm afraid :( A bloke I know bought a big parcel of them, and sold them to another bloke I know last week, and in turn, he sold some of them to me. There were supposed to be more this week, but the first bloke had decided to sell them to another bloke - who I don't know :( No worries ;)

Seems kind of the norm here these days. As the younger generation takes over the entry level food service jobs, I've noticed a sharp decline in customer service. I don't want to sound like one of those old fools, but kids just aren't raised to be respectful and polite as much as they used to. And they feel entitled to dress and act any way they want when at work. There are still plenty of good kids out there, but they aren't the ones taking these entry level jobs, the better jobs are snatching them all up. Hopping off my soap box now
