No doubt about it, no matter what combination the ironwood comes out with, these are very special knives. It’s a beauty Alan!![]()
I’ve been sitting here admiring mine and I thought I might as well let all of you Guardians enjoy them as well!

I was there too...didn't have to spend much time in the smoke but we could see the fires on land from the ship (in the Gulf) at night. I spent ~4 months there in 1991.Maybe one of these days. My lungs and system is pretty compromised after being about a mile south of the oil well fires during Desert Storm. I get choked up with just smoked brisket!![]()
Well my hat is off to you as well. Thank you for whatever you did. That was truely an ecological disaster.I was there too...didn't have to spend much time in the smoke but we could see the fires on land from the ship (in the Gulf) at night. I spent ~4 months there in 1991.

We came in through the Suez Canal and ended up in Dubai or Jebel Ali for quick port calls. There wasnt a whole lot to do out there in those days could barely find a place that served alcohol (we sailors liked to drink you may have heard haha). Seriously though, the oil fires, destruction and atrocities were all things I wished I didnt have to see. I was lucky to be on a ship at least but was very glad to get the heck out of there nonetheless. Thanks for your service!!
We swept up through the neutral zone north, then east. Didn't quite make it to the shoreline. We eventually went south and gave humanitarian aid to a small Iraqi town called Safwan.
Plenty of health hazards all around for sure!
Glad you got home safe!
Threw my guardian in the pocket. Helped me cut up some feed bags then sat and looked pretty for me.

Awesomely matched ironwood, Alan!
I've been resisting buying a Lamb Chop puppet for my lambsfoot postings.
I am very thankful it is Friday.

I'm going to visit my son at college. So, no Lambsfoot for me this weekend.![]()
Have a great outing, Jack! Seems you have it down to a science!Would love to see one of your walking sticks!
I like it! My brother works at Los Alamos, usually when I go back home, I'll go through Portales, Roswell, Ruidoso on down to Silver City. I hate Albuquerque and Santa Fe, but I owe my brother visit, so I'll have him keep an eye out for one!
Here's one my cousin gave me from Tuscon, I love the black pottery.

Thanks, Dylan! It is a charmer!
I love draught Guinness Stout and I'm quite taken by the Toucan but I don't, for the life of me, get this connection.![]()
"The Guinness toucan was developed for an advertising campaign by John Gilroy in the 1930s"

Breakfast of Champions.
Good looking pair. The nicest wood covered knife I've ever owned. No ifs, ands, or buts! The bottle opener and coin were gifts from Jack soon after I became active on BF.View attachment 1083401 View attachment 1083402
