Thanks Dwight! That one is a beauty too my friend! :)

A beauty.Love the long blade.
Thanks! I really like the biguns! :D

Thanks guys. I don't understand why they've gotten a reputation as a down and dirty work knife and nothing else. The f&f and beauty of the two I've got are as nice as any commercially available knife around.
@pjsjr This is from the second batch.
Alan, I think the lambsfoot is a working mans knife. I think the stories about the F&F and the poor quality came from some knives that have been produced years ago that were probably seconds but have been acquired and sold by some dealers. I personally bought one of these from the big auction site. It was a large rosewood model. It’s a solid knife and totally functional. The finish work is nothing to compare with the rest of my examples. I have experienced the same thing as you with all of my Guardians knives and also the others I have received through Jack. They are on par with anything I’ve received from other manufacturers.

Lots of iron to love in that one.
Thanks a lot! :)

Have a great day John! :D

That's a good start for any day, but especially one where you know you are going to be out and about. Nice photo and fluffy eggs, yum!

Thanks, Gentlemen.
First stop in Fairfield to watch my younger son compete in a band competition, then off to Santa Clara to visit my older son for the weekend. It's going to be great! Just waiting for my Wife to get ready, this could take a while.   I'll take my laptop and try to keep up the best I can.

Happy Alamo day! Do the locals celebrate this day or is it more of a
remembrance day?
Never mind you answered my question in what are you totin today.:p
Texas Independence Day is a state holiday, but if it falls during the week everything is still open. Maybe some counties close the courthouse. July 4 is a lot bigger. But I always celebrate this day. :)

God Bless Texas

Sorry - my bad. Never even occurred to me give credit to Taylor. I guessed it was obvious.:( I will edit my post with the proper tribute

Ray

Just learn to use the 'Quote' function Ray! :p

Half/Stop Half/Stop I can see your “chuffed to bits” as they say, and rightly so.

A long time ago, at the beginning of the internet, I used to spend a lot of time on MUDs and chat rooms. The main MUD I spent time on was made by folks at University in England. I learned all kinds of cool words but some of them always made me laugh. "Chuffed" is one of them :) I had a friend who would lead a sentence with "I'm well chuffed to say..."

That expression, and its variants, always reminds me of my maternal grandmother. Surprised to see it here! :D

Maybe one of these days. My lungs and system is pretty compromised after being about a mile south of the oil well fires during Desert Storm. I get choked up with just smoked brisket!:cool:

Thanks to you, and our other vets, for their service Dennis

Happy Texas Independence Day (March 2), Guardians!

Good news Jody :) Heal well my friend :)

Morning all. These lambsfoots at becoming addictive! Spotted a bog standard A Wright rosewood one for a very good price on a UK knife purveying website so I thought I would take the chance and buy it unseen. My luck was in I got a beauty. The fit and finish is excellent, not quite GEC standard but not far off for less than a quarter of the price. I have been looking at all the ironwood pictures with a fair amount of envy but came across this thread too late to get one. So imagine my delight when the gentleman Jack Black messaged me to say he had one for me to buy. Two in a week! No pictures yet as I gave them both a polish up last night and the oil takes a good day to harden properly. So pictures to follow. Got the weekend is going well for everybody so far.

Good to have you here Wayne, and looking forward to seeing your pics

Fake mills. Rubbish. :D Great shot though; hope you enjoy your hike today
..

Anyway good morning Guardians. Hope everyone has a nice weekend planned.
Mine's off to a great start :)

LOL! :D Yeah, they have a series of formal gardens, I think they were done for competitions at Crystal Palace or something. I couldn't resist using that one ;) Thanks mate, great way to start the day

It's going to be wonderful, haven't seen him in three months. Have a great weekend, Jack.

Thanks John, have a lovely time :)

The nicest wood covered knife I've ever owned. No ifs, ands, or buts! The bottle opener and coin were gifts from Jack soon after I became active on BF.View attachment 1083401 View attachment 1083402

Good Morning Guardians. Gone for the day, shortly. No Lambsfoot was harmed in the making of this image.:)

Thanks Jack! You did good my friend! Very good indeed! :D

I still have to spend some time with my Ironwood Bigun! :D I find that it is getting just a little jealous of all the attention the 19’s are receiving! ;)

Jack and Rachel posted pictures of drafting set, so, at the risk of being a copy-cat, here's the set I have that was my dad's. He was a civil engineer.

Not at all, Jack. It's 1:20 pm. Was going somewhere with relatives visiting from Georgia, but I have a flat tire. Buying two tires, but waiting in a nearby pizza place (where they sell beer). Lots better than waiting in the tire store waiting room. Drinking a Texas beer of course.
