It’s a beauty Alan!First and foremost my thanks and appreciation toJack Black . Thanks Jack. It arrived late so I grabbed it so it wouldn't be lonely in the mailbox. A couple of quick shots with my phone.
I can't speak for others but this example is stunning. It has strikingly beautiful wood. The pull is a solid 7-8 and nice and even right through to fully ope n. The blade is centered and sharp. The backspring is nice and even both open and closed. There are no gaps. If this is how they make 'work' knives, maybe they have a future in this cutlery business. hahaha!View attachment 1083028 View attachment 1083029
It's amazing how different each one is and still retain its beauty. The one on the right looks like two colors swirling in a bucket of paint. Very coolIt’s a beauty Alan!![]()
I’ve been sitting here admiring mine and I thought I might as well let all of you Guardians enjoy them as well!

r8shell Beautiful Ironwood and drafting set.
Here! Here! Great pic Rachel.
Thanks. It seems they sell other things besides knives on ebay.Fantastic photo, Rachel! Love the setting, especially in a world of everything computer and programs!![]()
You mean he won't have a loaner for you when you get off the plane? Have fun anyway.I'm going to visit my son at college. So, no Lambsfoot for me this weekend.![]()
I visited Albuquerque once, and had a nice time, but I don't know much about it besides that. It kind of reminded me of Austin without the water. We had a wild time doing the tourist thing in Roswell, too!I like it! My brother works at Los Alamos, usually when I go back home, I'll go through Portales, Roswell, Ruidoso on down to Silver City. I hate Albuquerque and Santa Fe, but I owe my brother visit, so I'll have him keep an eye out for one!
"The Guinness toucan was developed for an advertising campaign by John Gilroy in the 1930s"I love draught Guinness Stout and I'm quite taken by the Toucan but I don't, for the life of me, get this connection. The lovely one eyed lambsfoot somehow bridges the incongruity of this odd juxtaposition.

I have been admiring both your Lambfoot and your drafting set . Believe it or not , I had to train on using the Inking attachments but ultimately never had to make any production drawings with them . The company that I worked for at the time , went to Mylar drawing material and stopped using ink . Who was the maker of your set ???I think we could put together a fantastic calendar, although it would be tough to select the twelve best photos.
That's a contender right there.
Oh no!Not wavy spam!!!
I'm not a doctor, but maybe this is one situation where the lambsfoot is not the best knife for the job. I'd go with a scalpel.
Seriously, best wishes for a speedy recovery.
That's a beaut, for sure. How does the pile side look? (full disclosure: I'm so goofy after a long stressful week, I was thinking, "Boy, he's got the closest matching sides of any of this run." until I realized those were both mark side pictures.)
Here's to the weekend!

Roswell is a fun, quirky place! I remember you posting your coffee mug.....mine got kidnapped by a friendWe had a wild time doing the tourist thing in Roswell, too!
He's only a four hour drive away. He's not allowed to have a knife on campus and since I will be spending so much time with him on campus I'll be limited in what I can legally carry. It's probably not a big deal, I'm sure I can get away with carrying whatever I want on school campuses, but I know the rules and I'm a big rule follower. California campus carry is limited to a non-locking knife with a blade that is 2-1/2" or less. I think a #14 or #15 will be my carry this weekend. I'll be sure to throw the Lambsfoot in my pocket Sunday evening when I get home so it doesn't think I forgot about it.You mean he won't have a loaner for you when you get off the plane? Thanks Alan! That’s a very good analogy! It's amazing how different each one is and still retain its beauty. The one on the right looks like two colors swirling in a bucket of paint. Very cool
Thanks! I’m extremely proud of them both!Half/Stop a sweet pair of Ironwoods. Not identical, but Fraternal Twins.
My pleasure Dennis!Well thanks for sharing!!![]()
Got it in your honor. Haven't had it in forever!Great pic, Taylor. With the best beer in the world!
That's very cool. I've never tried to use the ink tools, I buy the sets for the small dividers. I'm not sure of the maker (in fact, it's possible not all of the tools are originally from the same set) but I see D.R.P. stamped on a couple of the tools.I have been admiring both your Lambfoot and your drafting set . Yeah, I'm sure there's a whole city beyond the UFO museums and gift shops, but we didn't see much of that.Roswell is a fun, quirky place! I remember you posting your coffee mug.....mine got kidnapped by a friend![]()
Oh, I see. Things are rather different in Texas. Let's just say the "campus carry" law passed here a few years ago allows concealed carry of guns (with c.c. license) on all college campuses. I'm not sure what the rules are in dorms. Anyway, have fun! He's only a four hour drive away. God Bless TexasThings are rather different in Texas.
My folks smoked, never cared for it. BUT, in my younger, dummer, partying days, I'd smoke a Tiparillo or a Swisher Sweet.Cigars are good for ya, Dennis!
So in my defense, it's been a very long day ... but... I looked at this post and thought ------ "Oh my goodness!! Ray has an ironwood lamb every bit as amazing as Taylor's!!!!"....... "Actually... It looks just like Taylor's!!!!!"![]()
I didn't mean to infer anything bad toward your post Ray. It was all on me my friend. Not you.Sorry - my bad. Never even occurred to me give credit to Taylor. I guessed it was obvious.I will edit my post with the proper tribute
I just have a sister in Tucson, now. I go there whenever I can. I live North of Chicago.cousin
