Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

Oh man, you step away from this thread for a couple weeks and you wind up hundreds of pages behind. I've been working on catching up since I never posted here after I got my knife and then I went on vacation. I have been working on catching up for the last couple days, but I am still only to page 665 and as of this posting there are 801 pages in the thread.

But I wanted to be sure to share my little lambsfoot. Here's a picture I snapped today:

Your loyalty is understandable my friend

I worked for a time in a grocery store that bordered Skid Row. The dumpsters were right behind the store at the end of the shift I would be dumping the garbage from the day. Almost daily there would be a few sitting next to the wall either passed out or awake, but not comprehending. They would puncture a hole in the bottom of a can of Lysol disinfectant spray, and drink the liquid or quite often antifreeze. These folks were usually suffering from Scabies and looked terrible.

Grim :(

And you need it when wake up so early!!!
Beautiful Ebony...

Yes, I woke up even earlier today  Mind you, I noticed I forgot to take my tablets before going to bed

In on 800!

Victory V is a British brand of liquorice-flavoured lozenges.[1] Originally manufactured in Nelson, Lancashire, they were devised by Thomas Fryer and Edward Smith MD in the mid-19th century and were initially made by hand to ensure that each sweet contained the correct amount of therapeutic ingredients; ether, liquorice and chloroform.

Where can I get me some o' them thar lozenges? ;)

LOL! :D Nice pic Rachel :)

Rachel, I get them here ;):p

Cool-looking store Dave, we have a few old sweet shops here, but I don't have the teeth for them anymore! :D

Great to see you here companero, beautiful pics :) Your 2019 is looking great :)

Breathtaking, Jack!! :cool::cool::thumbsup:

...

Do the tablets contain the same ingredients as the powder to be dissolved in milk?
Your AC is aces, Jack!:thumbsup::cool:

...

Scary story, Jack, but a great pic of Lucky Lucy! ;):thumbsup:

...

Jack, 54 straight days of at least 5 miles per day is quite an impressive "activity record"!:thumbsup: How do you keep track of your miles? I try to get at least 10K steps per day (for me, 5 miles is 9000 steps, 6 miles is about 10800 steps), but I haven't been reaching my goal many days in the past 2 months because of icy, treacherous sidewalks.:(

Thanks a lot GT :)

My internet connection is barely functioning this morning (been bad these past 3 days), but I just did a quick search, and Ovaltine tablets are still available - in Thailand! Also in Australia, where they are sold as Ovalteenies. Apparently, the tablets have the same ingredients as the drink

Thanks pal, I'm on Day 57 today :) I have one of those step counters on my phone, though it only counts about three quarters of my steps I think  Still, it has been a great encouragement :) Sorry to hear about the icy sidewalks, but the last thing you want is a fall, how about getting a pair of those micro-spikes?

Thanks for your comments on my post, Jack. :) I'm still unclear on how I've turned into a fair-weather forumite this winter!:confused::(

Carborundum is silicone carbide, isn't it? Jack, what leads to the horror? I thought stuff like Norton Crystolon stones had strong and well-respected supporters.

...

I've taken the unprecedented step of modifying my rotation schedule WITHOUT waiting until I made it through the entire schedule. The modification is that I added my 2019 Guardians lambsfoot into the lambsfoot category as my "Valley Jack" which will follow my Union Jack in the rest of the current schedule.

Don't let things slide GT, or who knows where it might end with too much spare time on your hands! ;)

My horror is caused by the thought of the coarseness of the stones GT. My grandfather still kept his main stone in the cardboard box it came in, it had two sides, one 'fine', one 'coarse', but in reality they were 'coarse' and 'very coarse' He did give me a couple of slightly finer pocket stones though

Wow GT  Great to know that Valley Jack has been added to your schedule :)

Wishing a wonderful Wednesday to all you watchful Guardians.

The same to you Vince :)

Cool pic Kevin, great shot of your '19

Thanks, guys! It was one of the last ACs. Haven't seen a bad one.

Yes, indeed it was Vince, one of the last three :) I bet you wouldn't swap it for another :) Just looking back at my pic though, I think it has definitely taken on more colour and character since you've had it :)

Morning Guardians, great to see this thread pass through 800 pages while I was asleep in bed :) Once again, thank you, particularly to our regular participants, and our long-standing ones :) I'm going to celebrate with a Double Lambsfoot Day! :D ;)

Jack that sweet shop is almost 200 years old! It was around long before the Confederation of Canada in 1867.

1827 Dave, though the building is 150 years older. The story is that wee Johnny MacDonald used to buy his wine gums there as a kid ;) :D

Well isn't that a bugger, arthritis a respecter of no one.:(

Great T-shirt! :D Though unfortunately, I can no longer take Ibuprofen because of stomach problems

150 years older! I love history, sure wish I loved it when I was in skool. :p

They barely taught us history when I was at skool o_O

LOL! :D There was a case here some years ago, where an old man, who had been deaf in one ear most of his life, had a bump on the head, and a rolled-up bus ticket fell out of his ear. He then remembered that he had pushed it in there as a schoolboy! The date on the ticket could still be read  His deafness was cured :D

This thread has stirred my interest. Where does one go about finding a lambs foot? I have seen a few on the place that I don't think can be discussed on here, but they all ship from the UK, and list freight as the option, and I've never bought from there if it was out of the country. Are these safe to order and how long does it take and is it expensive shipping?
