Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

I recently bought a rosewood A Wright from the place near you and it is a beauty, no gaps at all. If you go and handle a few I am sure you would get a really nice one. If they are not to your liking I think there may well be a few other sharp and shiny things on offer to make the trip worthwhile! Good luck.

Good info Wayne, I remember several years ago, a few of their mail-order customers were complaining about the AW knives they were stocking (it didn't help they were described as being stainless steel). I think the general quality of Wright's knives has improved since then, but it's also worth remembering that they are very inexpensive knives

Is it okay to say "Erin go Bragh" in an English thread? (I am part Irish, Jack!) ;)

It certainly is Vince! That's a great pic :) Éirinn go Brách

Ha, I get it...black out!!! Looks to be ending well enough for you Mr. Black;)

:D

Thanks to you Jack!

Many thanks, also for you Jack...;)

Thanks guys :)

Thanks for the good wishes fellas! what can I say shopping with Wives and or girlfriends is a real workout. ;):p

Shopping with wife and girlfriend at the same time could be stressful.

I once had to take three teenage daughters Christmas shopping. That would have been hard enough, but I had just broken my leg, and it was my first time out on crutches. They dragged me round every shop in Leeds city centre without mercy, and when I couldn't hop anymore, they just left me out in the street!

I love jokes like that! :D Unfortunately, one of my favourites relates to a cheap blended whisky called 'White Horse', which was once absolutely ubiquitous here, but is very uncommon now (because it's rotten)

A white horse goes into a pub.
The barman says, "Hey, we've got a whisky named after you!"
The horse replies, "Why, do they call it Eric?"

I just got back from car shopping with my wife, she's looking for a new car. So, I know your pain. :D
On the plus side, it was sunny and 72 degrees here today. Absolutely perfect weather. The birds are singing, the butterflies are flying, and the dog is napping.

Sounds like a great afternoon John :)

I got home from delivering SWMBO's car back to her up in Des Moines and found a package on the porch!

Curly (barn cat #1) thought the beer was far more interesting than the knives -- you can see the beercan flying off the stump.

the stag I got from Dylan is getting nicely pocketworn, and is noticeably smaller than the 2019.
Pile side has some really nice color in bright light, but is almost black looking under all put the brightest of lights.

here's the pic from immediately before I was so rudely interrupted:

while I was rescuing the knives, Yakko (barn cat #2) sampled the beer -- she agreed with me that it's very tasty.
(it's a regional beer from Iowa and not distributed in Ks, so I felt it was an appropriate reward for taking the car to herself)

Thank you for your patience Erik (Erik just missed the first 50), but I'm glad you got your knife in the end :) You have some patience with those rascal cats too! :D Great pics my friend, and I hope the cats let you enjoy your pint in the end :)

it's a good one!
no gaps, cracks, or wiggles, the spring is flush open & closed, and the blade centered.

Glad to hear that Erik, I have certainly never come across an A.Wright knife with blade play! :D I hope folks don't come to expect TOO much from these knives though, they are factory-made knives afterall, rather than customs :)

Great pics gents, loving the look of the '19s :) You are really pushing the envelope with that beer Taylor! :D

Evening Guardians.
I'm so behind, hopefully you'll accept my offerings as penitence.

Jack offered a refund because of the tip, but I told him no way, the tip is fixable and the wood is so freaking nice I couldn't part with it.
Thanks for offering Jack, but this baby is staying put.:)

And here's an appropriate little ditty for your listening pleasure.
The late great Roy Buchanan, covering Al Green's.. I'm a Ram.

That looks great Myke, I don't blame you for wanting to hang onto it :) I don't think it will take long to 'un-round' the tip

Thanks for the tunes

It is Dave, I had actually thought they had stopped making it until I looked it up. It used to be in ever pub and liquor store here when I was a kid, the cheapest of the cheap! I wouldn't even touch it as a teenager! :D You could get a bottle of Jameson's for only slightly more at the time

haha, its got to be pretty bad if you wouldn't drink it as a teenager.:p I remember when we as teens started out drinking there was something called apple Jack.
It was some form of fortified wine?? Man, we got violently sick on that stuff. The bench seats of my best friends 57Ford were never the same, no wonder some of the girls didn't want a ride in his car.:D

Those cheap fortified wines are nasty to get drunk on! :D When I was a kid, here in England, the most common thing to get drunk on was cider (all cider here is 'Hard'), I have only tasted it about twice since I was 13 I think! I was a whisky and cigars man growing up :D
