Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

Good advice Barrett :)

Such a peaceful scene! Triggers my happy endorphins @:D:thumbsup:

Thanks Harvey, it was actually supposed to be a rat-tail bolster, but I don't think they knew what that was, and I decided to go with the threaded bolster in the end!

He was a character alright Vince, with a mixed range of interests - he used to write and narrate a comic Sam Spade style drama for the local radio station - Jack Pie Private Eye :D

Glad you're getting used to eat Vince, I find Imgur basic, but easy to use

I heard a great radio programme about him a year or so ago Dave

Good advice Barrett :)

Like you, Jack, my preference would be rat-tall. Still, the threaded bolster is sweet.

dc50 dc50 Such a pretty song.

mitch4ging mitch4ging What a trio.

@Prester John Thanks for getting us back on track with that fine Ironwood.

Good Morning, Guardians. Spring is almost upon us!

Spring will be a while getting here, Vince, nice shot of your knife.
It's great to start a Monday morning with a bit of levity! Thanks, guys!:D:thumbsup:

I like it!!:thumbsup: I will send you my address and a blank check!:D:thumbsup:

Great song, Dave!:cool::thumbsup:

Oh, that's a dandy for sure!!;)

Wow! Beautiful pile side photo this morn!:) Quite a stunner!

Great looking carry today!! Those are some spooky things there!:D:thumbsup:

Mine today...again.

They are very friendy, Dennis. I carry either of my Lamb Foot over and over all the time.
Thanks Dave, I remembered now, the feller was called Raymond! What a character! :D

That's a classic song my friend, and a sad one I think. I like Nina Simone's version, and Sammy Davis Junior, who was taught to tap dance by Bill 'Bojangles' Robinson (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bill_Robinson), could also perform a poignant version :)

Thank you my friend, the best ones tend to be true don't they? :D TI am grateful for your kind words :)

Enjoy your day off my friend :)

Thanks Dwight, gorgeous pic there :)

Thank you Vince, I think that's true :) I was once in a pub, one Sunday afternoon, having a pint, and got into conversation with Raymond. Soon after, the friends I'd been drinking with had to leave, and not long after Raymond suggested we go for a drink at a pub I'd never been to before. It was quite a distance away, but he talked it up until I agreed. When we got there, he introduced me to a couple of fellers, and it turned out he was in a pub quiz team with them, and he had promised to bring a recruit with him as they were short-numbered! We ended up competing against a team from another pub, and winning a gallon of beer :D

Hope your week is off to a good start Preston, great to see your Rosewood :)

Thanks a lot Ron, nice choice, and a fine photo :)

That looks like beautiful weather Vince, and a beautiful pic of your beautiful knife :)
Thanks Jack, Mr. Bojangles, written by Jerry Jeff Walker, is one of my favorites, thanks for the Nina Simone link. I have a collection of artists and their renditions of the song but didn't have the NS one. I remember Sammy Davis, Jr. doing the song and dancing on TV many years ago...not this clip
but this is a good performance.
Here's Jerry Jeff's rendition
Willie Nelson and Bob Dylan are still touring, too. Saw them together here where they played at the AA ballpark (with some youngster: John Cougar Mellancamp). I couldn't understand a word Bob sang, but Willie really enunciates clearly.

Anyway, this is the lambsfoot thread, so without further eloquence:

It was a bit of a nightmare last year Harvey, providing photos and samples made no difference, and the bolsters were the least of my problems. This year I made sure I wrote it down for them

Thanks for the tunes Preston

Mr. Bojangles, I think that's a fitting name for my Ironwood.:)

Jack, I think we can all testify to the fact that they followed your instructions to the letter! :D There’s not a bad one in the bunch!

Same for me. I have JJWalker's and NGDB, but have never heard the Nina S version, thanks Jack.
Thanks for posting those, Preston!

No knife pics, today - just some random thoughts.

Glad someone is standing in for GT Dennis ;) Nice horn
mitch4ging mitch4ging FWIW, when I saw that pic of your amazing knife, I was reminded of a feather from a Golden eagle (think a chief's head dress). All the connotations of beauty and power certainly fit, for sure

It was written by a fella named Jerry Jeff Walker, who was a Prolific song writer and performer. He was part of a great group of writers that included John Prine, Steve Goodman, Towns Van Zandt and Guy Clark. Worth checking out these guys if you never had.
John Prine got old(just like me:)). Still sounds great.
Great recommendations and music to start off the day, thanks to all! Nothing better than good music to go along with coffee and a cigar on this glorious day of blue sky's. It's the first day I'm able to open up the house and get some fresh air circulating. Can't ask for more ;)

I was just listening to this song last night! Him, Levon Helms, and Guy Clark.
Levon Helm, a few thoughts about an amazing talent - both musician and actor. Although chiefly the drummer and harmony singer, he started The Band which served as back up for Bob Dylan for quite a while. Notable hits for The Band included "The Weight", "Up On Cripple Creek" and "The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down".
The first picture I saw him in was "Coal Miner's Daughter" - he was Loretta Lynn's (Sissy Spacek) coal mining father. He also sang "Blue Moon of Kentucky" in that film. He also portrayed the Confederate general in "In The Electric Mist" which starred Tommy Lee Jones. He also had brief roles in "Shooter" starring Mark Wahlberg and in "The Three Burials of Melquiades Estrada", again with Tommy Lee Jones in the starring role.
You might think that I'm quite the Levon Helm fan and you'd be right. No too shabby for an old boy from Arkansas

...I like Nina Simone's version...
Nina Simone - extraordinary. Have you heard "Sinner Man" from the remake of Steve McQueen's "Thomas Crown Affair" movie which starred Pierce Bronson?
OG

I agree. Jack designed a good one and the factory followed through with an excellent build.

Thanks John :)

That's a pretty good Levon Helm resume OG, all excellent films  I have a fair bit of Nina Simone, and have heard it many times my friend, but I had forgotten it was used in that film :) A friend of mine once interviewed Ms Simone, brave girl :D ;)
