Bring back the stovepipe kick!

Welcome to The Guardians (and thanks for editing your pic) The stovepipe kick will rise again ;)

Beautiful patina on that clip point and a lovely knife. However, it will not be allowed to remain on this thread my friend. Lambsfoot knives only. I would encourage you to edit the other knives out. ;)

Yes, Dwight is right: only lambfoots here.
You can try the totin' thread, the patina thread, etc. ;)

Thanks a lot guys

Morning Guardians, hope everyone had a great weekend. I usually get to hang out here on Sundays, but I still had a lovely day with my pal and his family (and their new spaniel). We had a good walk on the steep flanks of Ilkley Moor, and a lovely meal in a famous Yorkshire pub, before catching the train back to Leeds :)

Thanks for the advice, Jack, but so far an excess of spare time has not been a problem I've had to face!
My friend let me tell you. After 31 years it wasn't easy for me either. I'd say it took every bit of 2 1/2 yrs to adjust to retirement. Everything about it sends a shock thru your system. But trust me... IT IS HEAVEN NOW... :D Give it time amigo.
This is gonna sound weird, but for about 8 months the most difficult retirement adjustment for me was getting used to not having hassles.
All of a sudden I didn't have to cram things like Dr.s appointments into the work day or do things like rush to the store after work before going home.
I didn't have higher-ups on my case for budgets and reports.
And although the majority of the problems of the folks I supervised were credible, many were pure :poop:
All of a sudden, NO HASSLES.
My hassle life style had become such a routine, after I retired I guess for a while I was kinda lost without it  Weird, huh.
All better now, though.
Anyway, Fodderwing is right. Give it some time.
OG

Lambfoot Content...... I have been wanting a Stag Lambsfoot for a while now- so I placed a note in my Signature line ( yet to remove )- I have been offered one from a most generous friend- but couldnt accept- as I owe this man much indeed!
A nice surprise this morning when a fellow forum member contacted me and asked if I was still wanting a Stag Lambsfoot?

Do Bears do do do's in the woods??????
YES PLEASE :D

It will be a while until I see the knife as I am getting it shipped to my good friends House, man...So so happy- thank you once again to the member who reached out to me to have a chance at buying the Knife ( cant supply photo yet ).

Yay!:)

Beautiful scenic landscape Jack. Two questions. How old is that Yorkshire Pub structure? Do many of the pubs have rooms to rent and are they a "bed and breakfast" type set up? Okay I guess it was three questions.

Campbellclanman Campbellclanman - Great to hear about your incoming lambsfoot Duncan!

I've been pretty busy this weekend, I've hardly had time to check on this thread much less respond to many of the posts. Hope you'll all forgive me for just hitting the "like" button and not participating fully. My son is home from college on Spring Break and we've been catching up.

Good Morning Guardians
Alan and John, Those are a couple of great looking Lamb Foot knives, nicely photographed!
I can not resist posting more photos of this beauty...:)

That is a beauty, Jose, and we all love seeing photos of these wonderful knives.
Tremendous stag/bone/ironwood trio, Senhor Pinto!!:cool::thumbsup:

Henry looks like he has it made, Dennis! ;):thumbsup: What breed is he? His haircut and color remind me of Bella, our little poodle.

Vince & Jack, for your knives, AC might stand for "Aristocrático Ciervo"!:thumbsup:;)

Splendid sunny photo! :cool::cool::thumbsup:

Amazing pictorial comparison, Alan! :eek::thumbsup::thumbsup::cool:

Thanks, Preston. :) You should know that I rarely post current pics of my knives, though, because knife photography is a time consuming process for me. So I think the first pic of Black Jack I posted this week may have been a "vacation shot" from early August, while the one I posted earlier today was from late September. (At other times, I may post pics that are in reverse chronological order.)

I suppose you're right, Vince, but I'd hate to see it become like the restaurant that Yogi Berra allegedly described: "Nobody goes there any more - it's too crowded."

Thanks for the info, Joshua. My knives rarely get used for much besides food prep, so they develop patina fairly quickly.

Thank you, sir. :)

Good to see that both sides of your newest lambsfoot are very appealing!!:cool::thumbsup:

As long as I'm here, how about a pic of Black Jack when he was quite new?

Gary unlike us, Black Jack will/would look good at any age. No problem, your photographs are excellent. It is always good to take time to insure the best outcome.
I decided to put an old bolo on today. So I just had to carry Emmylou

OG, I like and wear bolo ties, most are native american as is yours...and I like both Emmy Lou's...well done!
Many Happy Returns to your Good Lady Wife Wayne :) Hope shopping wasn't too painful  ;)

Thank you Dwight, you are a man of great taste ;) Have a great time with the grandkids, absolutely fabulous pic :)

Hope you're having a good one Preston :) Cool pic  :)

Wow!

Gorgeous Alan :)

Looking good my friend :)

Welcome to the thread :) Slaters have folded, Adams buy their folders in (not their fixed blades)

Fantastic pics :)

Thank you for the kind words GT, and for the bonus pic :)
Thanks Jack...you too.
We’re going to Wisconsin to visit Harry and his lovely bride next weekend. Harry and I will be at the Janesville show on Friday and I’m not sure what time or day the game will be but I’ll have my phone charged for sure! By the way don’t be expecting any support from me either! The only Boilermakers I like are in glasses! :p

Vince, what does MLB stand for? Men Like Beer! :p You should try retirement. You’ll have everyday off! :D

I forgot to add today’s Lambsfoot! Got fired up over those Vols! ;)

Easy to carry and easy to look at!
I hear you on the hot. I look for better than heat these days. Hatch chilies have a great earthy flavor, and you can find them in mild all the way up to too hot for me!
Thanks for the well wishes!:)

Hello, Dutch! Good looking pair to have close to you!:thumbsup:

:) hello back to Ari and Harvey!
I think this Lamb thread is going to the Dogs!:p:thumbsup:

How could you, José!:cool::thumbsup:

He is already spoiled!
He is a 6 month old Cocker Spaniel. We got him at 1 week old, his mom had parvo, and the owners were trying to bottle feed 5 pups. He is the only one to survive, and he made himself at home.

I'm glad too that your are getting a stag LambFoot, Duncan.
Dwight you captured the grain in that so very well, and with the leaves make such a great composition!

You also, I need to ask what lens do you use to get those photos? I have tried but can not get mine to look as good as yours!

Looks like the Sambar Lambsfoot I had Wright's make is now surplus to requirements o_O :(

(No guys, this is NOT an opportunity!)

Thanks Dwight, the building dates from 1844. The pub takes its name from the two rocks in my other picture, legend has it that the 'Calf' was split from the 'Cow' when a giant, Rombald, was fleeing his angry wife, and his foot landed there. It is an inn, where you can stay, and there are still many pubs where you can stay for 'bed & breakfast'

Fine-looking Rosewood

Jack Black Jack Black What a lovely view of Ilkley Moor. I can imagine sitting there. I also love boulders and rock formations. What is that knife with lanyard above the beautiful Ebony Lamb?

Thanks Harvey, it was quite busy in that area yesterday, but most of the moor is very peaceful :) That is a Lambsfoot in leather, made for me by @Pàdruig :)
