Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

Switched to my 2019 tonight.

The bread looks as amazing as your 2019 Guardian.

Good Morning Guardians! Because of Jacks post with licorice, I ended up craving it  well here it is with a Rosewood standing by.:D

I'm always craving some soft black licorice. Too bad it's already cut, the Rosewood would come in handy for that.

I had wondered if they were perhaps a casualty of air travel, but of course that could not apply to you :D

No, but it could of been rough handling of the package by the border guards on the '62 summit....:D

Thank you David. That is a beautiful and wintry for sure moon shot. Don't work too hard today.

Oh no. Love Lucy's fang marks.

Absolutely gorgeous grain glory.

Headed to the grandkids down south today. Y'all have a great Sunday! Another moon shot.View attachment 1097370

Thanks Dwight; that's another great moon shot

David, I hope this photo of the pile side grain on my ironwood lambsfoot shows the "valley" I named the knife after:

Of course GT! I remember you mentioning that now  It's a handsome looking grain

Morning Guardians, hope everyone had a great weekend. I usually get to hang out here on Sundays, but I still had a lovely day with my pal and his family (and their new spaniel). We had a good walk on the steep flanks of Ilkley Moor, and a lovely meal in a famous Yorkshire pub, before catching the train back to Leeds :)

Have a good week folks  I'm starting off the week with some ebony

Looks like you have a great day out there  Is that where the end of the Tour De Yorkshire finished last year?
And may I ask what the cut out lambsfoot is about?

Beautiful scenic landscape Jack. Two questions. How old is that Yorkshire Pub structure? Do many of the pubs have rooms to rent and are they a "bed and breakfast" type set up? Okay I guess it was three questions.

@Campbellclanman - Great to hear about your incoming lambsfoot Duncan!

Hey Dwight, the vast majority of country pubs in England now do 'bed and breakfast'. They've had to, to remain viable. Depending where you go and at what time of year expect to pay £70-ish a night on upwards per room. Most of those types of pubs are the sort to also do evening meals as well.
Yorkshire has a profusion of such pubs:thumbsup::thumbsup:

What a really atmospheric shot

As I'm new I thought I'd post credentials: purchased this in a garden / garage sale a couple of years ago. I was visiting my sister in Melbourne I paid the princely sum of $3. The lassy wanted $5 but didn't want to change a note. I had $3 and a bit in change. I think I bought her ex's knife! It's very well put together, the blade appears to be carbon steel takes a great edge off an india stone and seems to stay keen a long time. It's only flaw is the tiny nail-nick. The back spring is strong and is possibly sentient with attitude, bringing excitement to the dull world of cardboard recycling....

Thanks for posting that  That's a great catch

Give them kids some liquorice in this form:

Actually, they're not bad; they do help with a cough!

Thanks to the perpetually sniveling snot bags called my work colleagues, Fisherman's Friends are the only thing that's been keeping me breathing for the past 4 days :rolleyes:

Just beautiful Kevin, great pic my friend :)

That is a great picture, Kevin, no doubt one of your best. I know I type slow and don't spell well so it takes me extra time to post. Just looking at the increase in several areas of BF and there is no doubt more are joining in and contributing...a good thing for the most part.

Love that photo Kevin

A very nice photo Kevin.:cool:

You take a cool pic Kevin

Neat photo of your wonderful knife, Kevin and is that an old license plate for the background?

flatblackcapo flatblackcapo Very nice image and beautifully lit.

Have a killer Tuesday everyone.

pjsjr pjsjr Part of me is very happy for the increase interest in traditional knives the grump ol' geezer part feels like.... get off my lawn! ( shakes fist in the air and squirts 'em with the garden hose! ) ;):D
Oh, and yes, that is a old license plate.

Not only a fine image, but a wonderful phrase.(“perpetually sniveling snot bags”).:)

I got my first lambsfoot in last Friday and so far really liking this knife and the blade shape is very handy. I can see it getting lots of carry time, and I'm starting to see why everybody here loves them! I'd also like to thank cigarrodog cigarrodog for answering all my questions and pointing me in the right direction of how to obtain one of these.

Looks great. Everything I know about Lambsfoot knives emanates from Jack Black Jack Black and all the other Guardians. Here’s to great beginnings, Ty.

dc50 dc50 my father loves that liquorice, when I visit my sister in Melbourne I bring a variety of liquorice types and brands back for him. Liquorice is much more common in Australia than here. (Belfast) Same with cherry flavoured sweets, although the OZzies can keep those.
First time trying it was yesterday, I would buy it again and again and again :thumbsup::thumbsup: Oh! did I say I like it?:p

Good for you :) They have whole shops that only sell liquorice in Holland. I once had to bring a load back for someone who used to live there :D

Good Morning Guardians

Looking good John :)

Good morning Guardians, Rosie will accompany me today on our travels. Hope you all have a good day .

It is David, there is still an image painted on the road there. The leather Lambsfoot was made for me by @padruig :)

When I was younger, I used to often stay in pubs, they were cheaper than most hotels, friendly, more interesting, and in the days before the licensing laws were relaxed, you could always get a few 'after-hours' pints. They are certainly not cheap places to stay anymore, but I wouldn't mind staying at The Cow & Calf, it's a great location

Call me kookoo, but I like this non-Wright's probably non-English lambsfoot.

I don't think I've ever given one of those to someone who didn't like it :)
