They are included in the 1883 Sheffield trade directory as a merchant and table knife manufacturer in Allen Street, Sheffield. The brothers were John Thomas Hale (1853-1919) and Samuel Stafford Hale (c. 1856-?), the sons of John Hale, an iron and steel merchant in Shalesmoor (Sheffield). By the end of the 1880's, Hale Brothers had moved to Moorfield Works on Snow Lane (photos below).
Wonderful write-up Jack. Thank you for all the detail.

I believe so, after that I got hooked up with Columbia Records my first Album by mail was Johny Cash Folsom Prison Blues.

Wow I love these ebony lambs! Blackest Black.

Jack Black Jack Black said: “I've noticed a few 'innovative' modern folders with very similar blade-shapes, sometimes call them a 'Reverse Tanto.”

Now I find that remark interesting in regards to the Lambsfoot pattern, because that was my initial observation. Prior to my dive into Traditionals, was my immersion in, and collecting of tactical knives, of which many are reverse Tantos. Next to Lambsfoot, the reverse Tanto is my favorite shape. Do have a wonderful “Tour de Yorkshire,” Jack. (Post Script) Beautiful paper-weight!

@btb01 I remember “Stan the Man,” but can’t help but noticing your Lamb’s wonderful grain pattern.

Thanks Harvey. I actually won this in a giveaway Jack did last year! It was the 2018 Guardian knife. It introduced me to the Lambfoot blade shape. It also taught me to try different patterns, you never know what you might like!
