Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

I drink Samuel Smith's Imperial Stout...

...because it reminds me of a prince of a friend in Yorkshire named Jack. And it tastes bloody good!

How 'bout you?
Cheers!

Hope all the Guardians have a fantastic weekend.:thumbsup: Mine has started out great I had not been outside other than the ride home from the hospital for 4 weeks and yesterday was a beautiful day so my daughter came got me and took me for breakfast and to get a haircut. I came home and was able to go outside where some other residents were and sit, chat and enjoy the afternoon. I'ts amazing what a little for sunshine will do for not only your body but also your soul. There has been a physical therapist coming here everyday for over a week and she has got me able to walk 5ft or so feet on a walker. That may not sound like much but after living in a wheelchair as long as I have I am ecstatic by the possibility of walking again and the doctor believes if I work hard I should be able to now. So I just wanted to let you, my friends hear the good news.
I'm sorry to be talking about myself but I'm as giddy as school girl after this news.

Randy, you are such a positive soul :) Congratulations my friend, I'm really glad you're making progress, well done

Found this modern day Richartz from Germany. I think(hope) this qualifies as a Lamb.

Very interesting my friend, would you be kind enough to post a few more pics of it, along with any other info you have?

Barnitt's is where that beeswax came from. Though I think I'll find some proper natural beeswax.
What's the new torch?

...

I've just spent the last two days in the Burton-upon-Trent beer festival.

Friday lunchtime had the Wurlitzer organ recital. Apparently one of only 23 remaining in the country.

Finally, Happy Birthday Jack! Hope you've had a good day

Fancy that :D I've seen sticks of beeswax on sale in quite a few places lately, though with warmer weather coming (hopefully), they might be well advised to put them back in the store room ;)

Thanks for the pics David, hope you had a smashing time

In a recent auction, my wife won a Santa Clara County atlas from 1876...perfectly mint condition. Filled with detailed maps and drawings from this area at that time. The first thing I said when she showed me the content was...."ooooh that would make some cool backdrops for knife photos!" lol. Working on it.

Congratulations, that's a very nice find, great pics too :)

"Whim ... away" - very clever, Jack (and it took me 3 readings to catch it )!:D:D
Any idea about instrumentation in that recording? There's some very high, ethereal parts that I can't decide whether they're vocal or something like an Australian didgeridoo.

No pun is too corny for me to stoop to GT  I'm afraid not, but there's some more info about the song here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Lion_Sleeps_Tonight

(Another Grapes of Wrath Lambsfoot pic too @JohnDF. ;))

Lovely pic Chin

I can’t tell if it’s stag or bone Stag like Jack Black Jack Black referred to it as. Take care.

I can barely see my computer screen at the moment because of bright sunshine outside outside! 'Stag Bone' or 'Bone Stag' are older words for what we would call 'jigged bone' today, though it was specifically tooled and dyed to imitate stag. Sometimes it was just called 'Stag', with the real stuff called 'Genuine Stag' or 'Real Stag', so old catalogues can be confusing. There's also pressed stag (just to confuse things further)

Beautiful photo my friend :)

Cheers my friend, thank you very much :) I was after a bottle of Sam Smith's Yorkshire Stingo yesterday, having never previously tried the heady brew, but I didn't manage to secure a bottle - even in this trendy ale shop in hippy Hebden Bridge ;)

I had a pretty good birthday yesterday, headed over to Huddersfield and found a few pointies in the market. Then went for a great breakfast, snapped this pic of my AC with my coffee, while waiting for the feast to arrive :D

Also got to open a few presents of course :)

After Huddersfield, we headed through some spectacular scenery, over the moors to Hebden Bridge, and after beer and cake, we had another scenic trip to Haworth, and then to Keighley. I'll try to post more pics in the Pearl thread

Carrying my Black Prince today, shown here with one of my birthday cards ;)

Hope everyone has a great Sunday, and thanks again for all your birthday wishes my dear friends

It sure looks like you had a most pleasant celebration. I do like seeing the visuals, because it allows me a better understanding. I assume that’s you up in the crow’s nest. Speaking of which, when I fully wake up, I’ll post more images, prior to my knife having to walk the plank.:)

Is that a Pierre Cardin Schnitt vom Morgen? I had a couple of those and was a little disappointed that if I left it in the sun, the siliconed on metal covers would slide off.

I can't find mine, of course, but one's pictured in post 273.

Old Stumpy in olden days.

It was nice enough thanks Harvey, the weather helped :) The crow's nest was actually invented by a Yorkshire lad, from the town of Whitby on the North Yorkshire coast, where I have often spent my birthday. Here's a Lambsfoot pic from Whitby, and if you go here: https://www.bladeforums.com/threads...-more-at-post-41.1214977/page-3#post-13919263 there's a story about the crow's nest to read with your morning coffee (if you'd like pics, go to post 1 of that thread) ;)

Good Sunday to you all. Sounds like you had a good birthday Jack. :) I'm heading over to Pearl's thread to catch up. View attachment 1101804

Thank you my friend, I need a day off to catch up with Pearl, unfortunately today is unlikely to be it, as I have to go to Wright's tomorrow, and I have some preparation to do before that  Gorgeous pic
