Gun Picture Thread

I bought G19s for the ladies in my life. But though good, even great guns, the Glocks have not engendered any affection. I think this P320 X5 Legion will be different, it's downright pleasurable to shoot.

Honestly, I can't stand glocks. I've tried them many times. My cousin carried one in .40 for the FBI and my uncle has two. Not for me.

When i lived in the Chicago metro my summer carry was a P365 SAS with Wilson Combat xl grip module, tungsten guide rod, tungsten rods in the grip, a flat trigger, and a green Sig Lima 365.

Winter carry varied on what I was wearing. Mostly my Steyr m9-a1. Occasionally the Chiappa Rhino 3DS because its intimidating AF and generally speaking, 6 shots of .357 magnum is most likely all I need in the suburbs.

I don't have my CCW permit (yet) here in Colorado, but being 65 miles from Denver I'm not particularly worried. I keep the P365 in my glove box just in case. The Steyr and Kimber live in a quick release safe next to my bed, and my Rhino in the kitchen. God forbid I'm in the basement when you choose to break in, you'll get 100 rounds of 7.62x39 coming at you.

On another note, my Marlin 336 .30-30 ejector is not working...and for the life of me i can't figure it out. I'm pretty good at repairing and modding guns, but I'm stumped. When I have the cash off it will go to a gunsmith.

Also, Fort my birthday (on Easter) i got a membership to the local outdoor range. 4 rifle ranges, up to 300 yards, two pistol ranges, and like 20 shotgun skeet/trap ranges. I can go as many times as I want per month, free, with no time limit. Plus 25% off ammo and clays.

Plus a discount on guided hunting for chukar and pheasant.

Pretty sweet for $22 a month.

The new Steyr ATD has my eye, despite the fact that I have no practical need for another 9mm pistol whatsoever.

Still above ground. How's things down in God's country? Did you go to the Trip thing/THC?

Rick, sorry that I missed your post. No, I didn't make it down.

I never really felt part of that crowd. If I did, for a moment, it was because of Steve...and I miss him dearly.

*I faced The Reaper in January, when I spent six days in the Neuro Unit, here at University Hospital in San Antone. In the words of Godfrey, "If you've come to kill me...even these days, it is not easy."

That sounds like a lot of pain. I had a partial tear repaired and that was enough. I hope you heal quickly
I have a spacer in now. The shoulder replacement was in July but because of incompetence on the PA it got infected. My whole body went septic. They also had to amputate my big toe.

Anyway:

My Marlin refuses to extract this ammo. Now im stuck with 180 rounds of it.

This question is not intended to start a caliber war.
Is a 10mm too much for EDC in an urban setting? Over penetration is a concern, but any modern caliber has the same concern. I run Hornady 175gr Critical Duty. It is not full power 10mm but still no slouch.
What are your thoughts?
Thanks

Damn. I hope everything turns around.

Carry the biggest caliber you can manage and that holds enough rounds to feel you can get the job done.

I mostly carried 9mm due to capacity and controllability, especially if I was going into Chicago. Around town it depended on what I was wearing.

Also, I modified the mags in P365 to hold +2.

When i get the new shoulder in a few months, and have recovered from it, I plan to get my CC permit.
