Gun Picture Thread

Looking at purchasing my first 1911. .45 of course. Max I wanna spend is $1000, and I'm not averse to something used.

I've currently been looking at Colt and Springfield. I'm hesitant to buy a Kimber because about ten years ago I rented one and it had a lot of issues jamming, mostly FTF. It could be the gun was really dirty or the magazine spring was worn out, but it happened with 2 different Kimber's at different ranges.

Since we are posting pics, here is my modified P365 SAS.

Wilson Combat XL grip with 3 tungsten rods, flat trigger, tungsten guide rod, lima365 green laser. Maggutz modified magazines hold 14 rounds instead of 12. I also swapped out the SAS slide lock for the standard one. I can hit steel targets at 100 yards with this thing no problem.

That 365 is pretty close to one of mine too!

I don't know why I have FOUR P365 tho... All of them have the optional safety added, and all of them have a few Magguts magazines in 12-14 round capacity now, depending on whether a short grip or long grip.

My 6 yr old P365 with Lima laser and Grayguns short grip lives in a Vaultek Lifepod 2 safe in my car.

Same car pistol at the range (limited to 14 yards and 14+1 rounds). I get a little vertical stringing with the short grips and mags due to how hard I have to squeeze the grip to turn on the green laser - it makes my hand more shaky. That's why I've been slowly switching to the TLR-6 on my P365's. The Sig Foxtrot 365 Light is much easier to activate, and pairs well with an optic, which fitting in a holster made for the smaller Lima Laser.

One of my EDC is a ZEV Z365 with Holosun 407K red dot, Sig Foxtrot 365 light with NO laser, and Wilson Combat short grip. All mags have since been upgraded with Magguts to 12 round short or 14 round extended mags.

I have another 6 yr old OG P365 EDC with Wilson Combat XL grip and TLR-6 HL red laser in my pocket today. I've added a pair of Magguts 14 rounds mags since the picture.

My XL bedside gun has Holosun 507K green dot optic, Grayguns gun metal cerakote XL grip, and TLR-6 light/red laser. All mags upgraded to Magguts.

My son's P365 Build - ZEV Z365 with manual safety, green Lima Laser, and OD green Grayguns XL grip module, plus Magguts 14 round mags.

My Semi's are CZ 9's. B, compact and PCR All three are as comfortable as an early Browning Semi
Revolvers are S&W .38 special 637 and 686 plus 4" as they fire either .38 or .357, in stainless
For ultimate home protection, Mossberg 590A1 Mil Spec .12 gauge 18.5" barrel. These are the only Military approved shotgun. Add Hornady slugs for long range
No, I'm not crazy.......just ex-Army

Colt makes some interesting models but I think the worksmanship of Kimber and Springfield will on the average be better. Bul is gaining popularity otherwise I don't know anything about them.

A 1911 with FTF is most likely a problem with the extractor being tuned a bit tight, this can happen with any 1911 with internal extractor and is easy to remedy.

I've noticed that Springfield just released a lot of new models that are optics ready if that matters to you.

You might want to check out Ruger SR series. I have an SR1911 in 10mm that is a chunk of stainless.
On my side at this moment is my Kimber Compact Stainless. I believe these are now out of production but a fine gun.

Not too bad for my first 1911. Gun is phenomenal, the standard Kimber mag as expected is not great, falls out upon insertion unless the slide is locked back. Otherwise, I put 100 rounds through it no issues. Wilson Combat mags are great.

Texture on the trigger is a bit excessive. Flayed a little bit of skin off.

Got to rapid fire it, very nice gun. I hadn't shot a 1911 in over 10 years, probably closer to 15 but I got dialed in pretty quick. The Truglo TFX Pro sights are nice, though I prefer a blacked out rear.

These were at 25 yards.

Probably going shooting outdoors Friday. Excited to put more rounds through the Kimber, it's very enjoyable to shoot, wish it held 20 or 30 rounds. I need a .45 2011 in my life.

Gonna bring the Tavor, M1 carbine, and the Marlin too.

Wilson Combat makes 10 R mags. Is that what your purchased?? There are after M 15s around. Fun at the range but are a bit much for CC…

Just a heads up for 6.5CM owners.

PSA has Remington 6.5 CM on clearance for $29.99 a box. There is also a Remington rebate going on now too which would make it $24 a box.

Cheap for a quality load, got my shipping notification for 3 boxes this morning after ordering yesterday
