Wanted something for distance past 200yds. I’m ok with open sights out to 200, but after that it’s iffy.
Red dots are out because of astigmatisms. Put a 2-10x scope on it. I’ll keep it on 2X, but will have the extra magnification for longer shots. At 2X, I get 55’ FOV at 100yds.
Went with a 1 in 7 twist for heavier bullets.

That’s a nice 40X, what vintage? I owned a 40X BR in the early 70’s in .222 Remington. I had a 20X Redfield 3200 mounted on mine. First really accurate rifle I owned.

Return surprise taken care ofGuess I'm gonna have to return surprise him with that Tavor X95 he's been talking about
It has a 4 digit serial # so my best guess is 1955ish, chambered in .22lr sitting in a Freeland stock I refinished, topped with a Lyman scope modded to 40 power. With Eley 10x it can easily drop all it's shots in one ragged hole.

It IS a shooter. A lot of my buddies can pick up my CZ and group better with it than their own carry pistol lol.

My shooting options are mainly indoor ranges but they do have rentals. I believe they have a CZ in the rental case. Next trip, I will rent it and run a box of ammo thru it.
Sometimes it truly is the gun and not the shooter.
