Guns & Hinderers

Anything I should consider on differences? There's a few guns I'm still trying to decide between next, but the usp/p30 or the glock 19 are my top two I think.

I have a glocks and h&k's also. The h&k's are pretty beefy and heavy, even the compact. I'm hoping Glock makes a 9mm close to the same dimensions as the Glock 42 soon.

Firearm choices are very personal and depend on not only the user but the primary role of the pistol. Visit the local shops and try them in hand...hopefully get to shoot them too. But in the end you may end up like many here and become the proud owner of both Glocks and HK USPs.

Shot a Glock 42 today, it is a pretty small little guy, shot like any other Glock, just smaller and thinner. Pretty amazing, little, simple piece. I have medium sized hands and I felt like my hands covered most of the gun (I suppose not unlike my PM9).

I'll get one as soon as it is available in 9mm.

If you want to try a Glock, I'd recommend the 19, it really is a great all around gun and a great choice as your first Glock.

To the other end of the extreme, I also shot a Smith & Wesson 500 Magnum today. Wow is that a beast, 400 grain bullet, nearly 3,000 ft lbs of energy, and very accurate.

Rich, those things are insane. We went to the range one night to shoot our shotguns and obviously they have a pretty big "bang" when they go off. All of a sudden a few booths down we heard a bigger "BANG". Within a few shots most the range was standing there watching. He had a scope on it. It was crazy.

Rich, those things are hand cannons!! Would love to shoot one someday. I've watched people on YT let the recoil of the round come back and smack em in the face with the gun, lol!! Talk about funny!

We shot it at 100 yards at a 12" steel target with just the open sights and a single front rest, held it dead center and we hit on 3 of 4 shots. The third hit knocked the steel plate loose and it fell to the ground, I thought I had broken it.

It probably jumped 8" off the rest, not horrible recoil by any stretch but still pretty robust. It is one heavy gun, the cylinder is massive.

That super redhawk 44 mag w hollows could take a bear down I swear. The 357 mag was sent back to smith&wesson for laser engraving, they did an excellent job, its also very accurate. But my kimber eclipse target II 45 We shot that day took the cake for accuracy, in a biig way! What a gun!

Nice pair Jason! I admire those laser engravings on the S&W. And of course the 44 looks very color! Can't go wrong with either of those. Kudos

So, yet again I can't thank the herd enough. I remember a post Rubi made awhile back some of the product trends we seem to share. Obviously the love of Hinderer and a tendency to love Omega watches, HDS lights, and Glocks. I handled my first Glock yesterday and had to buy my first today. I fell in love with the G19. It's a little smaller than I would have expected to like, but it really seems to work well for me. I have a few guns, but this is the first one I've ever purchased for myself. It was a great experience and I couldn't be happier. I'll post a picture later!

An HDS... and Omega  (though the HDS is likely to happen much much sooner). I'm really happy with this pick up still which is great; I normally suffer from pretty much universal buyer's remorse. I think this guy will fulfill my need to customize and be gadgety for awhile.

Nice! With the wait times on HDS right now, the Omega first may not be out of the question.;)

Good stuff NjH Congrats:thumbup: Pick up some Speer Gold Dot 9mm 124gr. +P Hollow Points (Nice self defense Rd.)

The Glock 19 is a really nice piece, great all around performer. I also like the .40 cal (just a thought ;))

(I just checked, I have 22,23 and a 27 all gen4's in the .40cal)
