Haebbie in the wild west

Wow, great view! This mountain is really impressing. Hope for you the mountain is still sleeping for the next - let's say 50 years. Or are you far away enough for the spit of the volcano?

I’m on high enough ground the mudflows wouldn’t get me here but who knows where I’d be if/when it ever goes:eek:

West end of our journey. Pacific Coast at the Olympic National Park. After putting her hands into the Pacific water she meant the water is as wet as the Atlantic water.

Makes swimming in the evening more fun than swimming in the morning? Ask the kids. :) :)

Edward Cullen didn't sleep here, the concierge promised.

May be he slept here, just on the other side of the road.

Not sure if you’re still there but the restaurant on the other side of the street just about a half a block north of you does, or at least did, put on a pretty good breakfast.

Thank you, 315, for the hint. Well, we are still there and where do you mean we had our breakfast this morning? It was delicious and the waitress was stunning. Same tomorrow.

Hope you are enjoying the peaceful Pacific North West Coast, next time you need to see the Sunny & Hot weather at the bustling Pacific West Coast beach's in Southern California. Not as peaceful for sure.

Thanks Haebbie, Your pics have allowed me to plan a vacation next summer to the PNW. I lived there in the late 70's and haven't been back since. Its time that changes and I'm so looking forward to it. pete

Here is an authentic 20 foot Lacota tipi (except canvas cover rather than hides)my friend purchased many years ago. He frequents pow wows regularly with his family, huge native American buff. I slept in it last Monday. All I can say,is, I’m glad I’m a German import. I’d hate to sleep in one every night. Hot, humid and buggy.

Great photos. I am happy that you were able to appreciate some of the more beautiful parts of America. I empathize with those who dislike the crowds. I find state parks to be far less traveled and while they are not as grand, they are more peaceful. I received my first buck knife on an American road trip not unlike the one you went on.

I'll also say that if you can bare the cold, going off season, most parks are very empty and due to the lack of foliage it is easier to spot wildlife.

It is tough for me to get out as far as Idaho living on the east coast but I want to hike and camp in the saw-tooth mountains.

Here's a photo from the last time I was at Glacier in 2016:

Great Photo 155, and thank you, guys, fur the kind comments. We are leaving now the Olympic Park and travel back to the cascades to have a short look at Mt. Baker, in the afternoon the way goes to east. Destination: Spokane. We spend another night on the way. Has anybody an idea where is the best place stay over night?
Mail more pictures later.

Pete, PNW means Pacific North West?

best place in spokane to stay is the davenport hotel in downtown---a bit expensive---safe secure parking----awesome historical grand hotel of Spokane---been here since the early 1900's er so----google it ---you wont be disappointed---then also you are close to downtown to check the sights...…
also easy to get to-- few minutes off freeway--then easy access to get back on freeway to buck knives.....

Not Spokane, but we stayed at the Sleep Inn in Post Falls, just down from the Buck factory. Best price we found at the time. Nice place, hot breakfast.
