Hand filling ergonomic folders for large hands

Cold Steel Espada XXL

Fits like a glove with extra extra extra large behemoth hands
Haha ya I don't foresee Edcing this beast. Also, I like to have a smaller blade because I mostly do control cuts. 4 inch is the max. 3-3.5 Is the sweet spot.

Spyderco shaman might work pretty good. It has a thicc handle, has the blade size you like, has a greater thickness and tip strength then normal spydercos, and it is shaped so you can choke up right on the blade for those controlled cuts

Yeah, the shaman is really great. I do have one, looking to find something along the same lines.

Lots of good recommendations so far. Thx

Socom update.. it is not what I consider a hand filling ergonomic folder. I find in use with heavy cuts like it's going to slip out of my grip. Too narrow.

I do like the knife overall, but I get a better grip on most other folders I own.

I've been tempted to try one of these out.
I sanded the last bump or whatever you want to call it a touch and it’s pretty perfect for my hand. I wear an Xl mechanix glove but can squeeze into a lrg. Wide palm but no sausage fingers. Xxl hitchhikers thumb.
Other things I did to mine include sanding a touch off the finger guard allowing for thumb roll “front flipper” opening and changed the blade profile to a clip point.

Sounds interesting. I'd love to see some pictures of the mods if you get a chance.

Dunno if its been recommended or not, but the Viper Rhino has a large and contoured handle that's very comfortable. I posted a pic of mine in the edc thread

Obviously I am a huge fan of cold steel. All of these knives come with great steel, g10 handles, and are very carry friendly. If you are going to use a locking folding knife, it makes sense to have something strong that you can rely on. The last thing you want is to get cut by your own knife, or fear using your knife because you don't trust it. The Triad lock and Scorpion lock are seriously strong. These are the only folding knives I have ever seen someone successfully baton with. Andrew Demkos moto is literally "performance first"- all these knives are designed by him and they will beat any competitors knives in the same class.

I haven't owned any cold steel knives yet. The AD 10 is on the list of knives to try, as well as a tuff lite. The tuff lite looks similar to the Spyderco native 5 which I like a lot.

Totally agree, brother. Cold Steel are serious-use blades. Suitable for EDC, or going-to-war. If you handle a 4 Max, you'll see that it deserves all the superlatives. This thing is all-business, if you know what your looking-at. You can also add the Cold Steel SR-1 to your list of winners. Seriously, thinking about buying a 'second' 4 Max to keep in the stable.

Benchmade 808 Loco might be worth considering.

Also, the Spyderco Vallotton Sub-Hilt doesn't meet all your criteria but it is a real mitt full o' steel. The knife is like a gorilla wearing a tuxedo.

Good luck, OP!

Haven't tried a Loco yet. I did own a Vollotton before, beautiful knife but too wedgey for slicing.
