Happy Birthday to _jody744__ !

Nice riff on a Giveaway, ~P!!
A worthy gift, that would always remind me of a good friend dontcha know!!
I almost said "not an entry", but couldn't resist the chance!
A year and a half ago, I got a nice surprise for my 70th! A bunch of friends threw a party at my favorite Greek restaurant - a great "me day" for sure, but nothing compares to my 71st last September! My sweetie - wife of 39 years - and I were roaming around Vancouver Island on some of her accumulated holidays, doing some beachcombing, and museum touring. We had a nice salmon dinner, and knowing my passion for trade beads, she presented me with the image of our long marriage! Big, blue and beautiful, a carefully selected huge Blue Russian bead, which has been "trading" around the Island since the early fur trade days, possibly in the early 1800s! It has been around my neck, on an old piece of string ever since!

All the family birthdays, ours, kids and grandkids are celebrated at our house, and I usually cook! I feel blessed, but I know what you mean about a me day, Sarah!!

Sarah ,
I think Charlie's wife has him on a string..... and he likes it. I'm grinning.

I don't blame him,I've seen her.

Seeing as how today IS my birthday, I think I'll ask to be entered in this wonderful GAW. As for memorable birthdays, well, the ones that stand out are those that followed significant events in my life: first one married, first one as a father, etc. It gives one pause to stop and thank God for the blessings He has bestowed.

Knife content, hmm... well, this is my birthday gift to myself. It arrived yesterday, and I'm really liking it:

Happy Birthday major_works! You sure got yourself a nice gift, love the color.:thumbup: Have a blessed day.

VERY cool picture! It took me awhile .
Happy b-day from another Aquarius (water, blue).
My granddaughters is the 5th and mine is the 10th :)

Birthday gift to my daughter, a 70's Massoptier hawkbill. This year my daughter was very surprised as I send her a message on the right day. Usually I send it the day before, can not explain!
I should be with her today in his tiny Burgundy village as we had scheduled to attend the St Vincent tournante in nearby Irancy (one of my most prefered beverage). St Vincent is the patron saint of wine growers and each year they celebrate it and change of village. You can get some tickets then go and taste all day but it's much more than simply that. Unfortunately it's raining cats and dogs, sthe visit has to be postponed.

Happy birthday and what an awesome gift (for us ;) ). This is a cool idea for a giveaway, thanks!

My most memorable birthday may have been my most recent. My wife is my absolute best friend and currently we are expecting our first. We used to hear to Chicago to celebrate birthdays so this year my wife took me to Chicago to celebrate like old times before the baby comes. Our life may be changing but the weekend was really special and she let me know that I'm still always going to be her best friend.

Sorry about the bad weather. But I'm sure she will love the beautiful gift.

Early Happy Birthday Sarah, hope you have a great one.

Probably my most memorable was my 50th, not so much for the milestone but because 4 months earlier I did not think I would make it to my 50th. June of that year I was diagnosed with stage 3 head and neck cancer, large tumor in my neck. Went thru 35 radiation treatments causing extremely severe sore throat to where I could not eat and 8 chemo treatments that caused a maddening rash and itching.
Right before my 50th birthday in October I went in for an after treatment PET scan and it showed no cancer anywhere and I have remained cancer free to this day.

Thank you. :) She will use it in the small garden (rhubarb, various herbs, raspberries, roses, etc.)
