Hartsfield?

$10,000 for a Katana ? C'mon bro , everyone knows you dont dump that kind of coin on a Kat , now a Hyabusa...with turbo and Nos maybe ;)

Phill raised them for minute,, but then had to reconsider the sky high pricing. That was probably me who told you that at the show. While standing in line, right?
yes, it was you. and when i told phill hartsfield that i met a guy in line who came to the show to get one or more of his knives he told me you went home happy. also, a week or so after the show i was in nordic knives talking to one of the employees and i mentioned that i met a hartsfield fan (fanatic) at the show and he knew it was you. so there you have it folks, TJL knows his hartsfields.

Joe,
How do your Hartsfields compare to your knives from Shiva Ki ?

Doug :D

Hey Doug how are you. You and STeven both bringing Shiva Ki into a Hartsfield thread is like throwing gasoline on a fire around here. Makes for fun reading thou. I have been a friend and customer of Phill's for over 20 years any good fortune that comes his way I am pleased for. I have only been useing Shiva's stuff for under a year and only have a few of his blades so a direct comparison I am not qualified to make. Both of there work is raw which is a style I like in some of my knives. Both are sharp and easy to maintain a good edge with. Shiva etches alot of his blades so touching up the finish of one of his blade is a bit more involved. Phill's stuff because of the finish that everyone comments on is easy to clean up even slight rust caused from blood or fat that can not be cleaned up in the field can be removed with a light sanding and the blade is good as new. Due to the rough finish to begin with you can not tell the blade was touched up. I like that quality in a user knife. I have alot of knives and swords with fine finished blades that I do not use because the first time you do some serious cutting the blade gets mared and is way to much work to clean up. lets be honest I am sure alot of you have come across a tough cutting job and have hesitated in useing a finely finished blade because the finish will be marked up with a Hartsfield you do not have to worry about it. So what alot of you complain about finish or lack there of I like in a user blade. I have been around here long enough to know how a Hartsfield thread goes. Bottum line is Phill does not claim to make art knives and does make a fine cutting tool and if you like his style buy it if you do not don't. Weather some of you like it or not the fact is he has carved out a certain genre in the knife world and I am pleased for his good fortune. On the subject of swords I have a few and if it fell on me to defend myself and or family with a sword I would pick up one of my Hartsfield's before any of the others.

That is because you are a deficient cutter......with a penchant for using long tsuka.....in addition to not using proper spacing breaks....hahahhahahahah:D

Same to you, amigo...good luck on the mooses!!

I leave on the 18 Mr. Long has some blades that are going with me if I have time after I get them back I will post some pics. They are nothing fancy but I would apreciate some abuse from you before I go.

Since you ask so nicely, I would be happy to oblige....Paul offers superb leatherwork, but due to your extremely bad taste in many things, I am anticipating that you requested some offal(pun intended) color combos.:o:p

Son of Jack is a beautiful pup, Joe, but you might want to resize the pic.

Now THAT is the S.G. I know and love! I have to admit, that comment got me chuckling. I think I like this guy!

You may or may not like me, but what I wrote to Lorien was harsh, and he didn't deserve it....it was a knee-jerk reaction because his sense of humor occasionally reveals itself at the completely wrong time for me, and it diverts my attention/"aggression"/assholishness.

Well, holy shit.
Thanks Steven. I'm glad we could come to an understanding:thumbup:
I totally forgive your remarks.:)
Now, back to regular programming...

You do realize that EVERY post you have ever made will now contain a 4" x 6" shot of Son of Jack, right?(frikkin pud):D

Best Regards,

Be nice, STeven. Joe appears to do like most of us and let Paul make the call on color schemes. etc. The only bad thing he does is insist on putting those mokume doorknobs that his car mechanic makes on the sheaths.;)

That's it? C'mon! More More More! Or someone can post some knife photos in the Hartsfield/Martin style of blades!

STeven: I'll mail you some rope (if i ever get around to acquiring some more!)
