Has Busse destroyed your interest in other fixed blades?

Nice Izula's!

Other than Tglb, the new combat grade ash and a few older Busse knives i've had for years Martins have been sucking up my knife funds for a while.

Even though I tend not to go this way for fixed, your hollow handle blades get a big  form me just for their cool factor... great pic man.

ll give you $150 for the Field Tac

Cash money

Always liked the hand ground finish of them

Thanks i have a lot of fun with them, far tougher than most realize. They have come a ways since the era of the cheap ones in the 80s.

Lately I've been interested in some high end Japanese kitchen knives. The kind I would have thought were ridiculously expensive and not possibly worth the price before Busse got me used to spending that kind of money on cutlery.

Funny how buying a few (or a bunch of :D) Busse blades changes your perspective on expensive.

Not completely. I love the Japanese blade but I prefer chisel grind. If I get a Killer-B, that might be as close as I can get.

Yeah, I had one of those and beat it up real bad... which was a lot of fun, incidentally. Yours do look pretty damn serious.

I started collecting Randall's with the one I carried in Viet Nam (going to the grave with me)so when I find a #5 or #7 or #14 I try to pick em off...however my Busse collection has grown considerably because they are great to use and easier to obtain.

I put my first Randall on order last August (7" Model 2 w/ ivorite handle) and I plan on putting an order for my second (Diver Model) to see what all the fuss is about. If I am going to collect knives I might as well own a couple of Randall knives. I guess I will find out.....in four more years.

I have always had an interest in Randall #1s and #14s. Actually just got the order form and catalog, this recent change of heart on the fieldtac makes me reconsider the thought

ETA: I'd have 5 years to think about it haha

Nope. I still find many fixed blades I like;but I'm a tomahawk fan so I got more Hawks now than fixed blades.

Nemesis please PM me your thoughts on the FieldTac...I'm curious. Betting if it were more like an FXM w/ longer blade that'd you still own it.

As for the question...Busse (Kin) get a lot of things right with their fixed blades and while I own a few of this brand, couple of that, one of those, etc...I own several Busse(Kin) fixed blades for good reason--because I like them.

No. There are a few non-Busse blades I have bought fairly recently, for various reasons.

I bought a Dozier General Purpose Hunter because Busse has never made, that I am aware of, a traditional semi-skinner pattern, which is one of my favorites.

As I discussed in a recent thread, I bought a Ruana semi-skinner pattern for reasons of nostalgia solely because it greatly resembled one my dad once reground for me.

I also picked up a Arno Bernard Rhino at Blade '14 with a Nile crocodile handle material and had to have it. I am fighting off the urge to start a Bernard Nile crocodile collection.

Recently gave away a first-run Benchmade Nimravious I bought years ago because in the end I never could warm up to it, though.

Well, I got my first Busse toward the end of May... I'm hooked! Battle Mistresses and Steel Hearts make my knees weak! They are sooo beautiful and sooo damn good at what they do! I still love my Fiddlebacks, Fletchers and Backwoods, but infi is freakin' amazing! I thought Busse had 100% taken my soul, but a super sweet Fiddleback Sneaky Pete lured me back in. I'm glad of that; after all, what would I do with the safe of all the other beauties I have enjoyed so. Jerry is a marketing genius with a phenomenal product... I gotta go and get back to the Exchange to see what's offered today! :) Thanks Jerry and Hogs for draining my bank account and making me sleep in the box in the woods!
