The epoxy coating holds up well to kydex. If you're chopping wirh it, you'll loose a lot more coating fast. Unlike a lot of coated blades, the coating on INFI blades is not really there for corrosion resistance. It allows less finishing work on the blades.
Grit in Kydex will scratch bare steel. It can scratch the coating too. On my users, this does not matter. Eventually, all my users get stripped anyway. I don't do any preventative maintenance and have never had rust issues.
If you want more "tests" ie destruction, look up NOSS on YouTube (bladetests)
He tests blades by chopping concrete, chopping metal, buttoning through metal pipes, etc..
Busse are king of destruction. Though watching him destroy then is tough!
