Have you ever bought a knife because you saw a review on Youtube? I have.

Who is your favorite reviewer. My favorite is Virtuovice

Cold steel rajah. After watching a nutnfancy review.....only kept it for about a week, was just too big for me....also bought a glock 20 after nutnfancy shed a little light on it and I researched the 10mm round further. I don't know if I have a favorite you tuber. I am however subscribed to a ton of them and they are great way to get info and a better look at a product before you buy

I got one after his review too. I have an addiction to large knives and this was a good fix lol.

I have discovered knives on you tube that I hadn't heard of and/or considered (I think youtube is great for that) I Then I went on to research them further and ultimately decided whether to buy or not. But, I haven't seen a video and bought a knife solely based on a review. I do enjoy hearing other peoples opinions, if they are knowledgeable, but ultimately I buy based on my beliefs.

Yes and no. I use youtube a lot but it is NEVER to get the perspective of the person doing the review. Its just to get a better idea of size and how the knife plays in someones hands. I also feel videos give you a better grasp of a knife's design rather than a picture that for all I know is just a computer generated likeness. But I nearly always keep it on mute. I tend you choose videos based on picture quality. So by default jim skelton wins though I feel he is not very educated on the knives in general.

I bought a Kizlyar Supreme "Maximus" and Lion Steel "M7" both after watching reviews by Bush Camping Tools.

I have bought a 1911 holster because of youtube, but I don't currently watch any knife reviewers. I am subscribed to knife hq but that's about it
as far as knives go.

My favorite reviewer is nutnfancy. I have bought plenty of knives based on his reviews. Gideonstactical, is much of the same -- good stuff, user knives. Terafanatic is my favorite reviewer of high end steel. jim Skelton is good to, but after watching him I feel like the guy watching the neighbour back up his Ferrari out of his garage while I have my Ford on the driveway... So much good information on YouTube!

Never SOLEY based on YouTube, but I watch stuff on knives I'm considering purchasing. Never just one persons video and I take it for what it's worth. Most of my research is done beforehand. If I'm consulting youtube it's mostly because my mind is made up and I'm just wanting to see the knife in action. I like to get my factual information gathering here.

I watch a lot of knife videos on YouTube. I feel that video reviews (if done well) give you a good perspective of how the knife looks and operates. I like to hear other enthusiasts' opinions of how the knife feels, strengths, weaknesses, value, etc. I would say that this has gotten me interested in knives that I wouldn't have known about or otherwise considered and has occasionally encouraged me to buy a particular knife.

Also, +1 for Hickock45 on firearms.

I bought a Spyderco Southard because of Youtube. Everyone seemed to be raving about it, so I couldn't resist. I barely ever carried it and ended up trading it away. I still love watching videos, but now I watch them on silent for the most part.

No, however I will tend to look at a couple if I'm already considering buying a knife.

I can't say that I've ever bought a knife because a YouTube review sold me on it, but reviews have solidified existing wants for me a few times.

I'm subscribed to a bunch of reviewers, and I often play reviews as background noise when I'm doing things at home. My favorite is theapostlep. I don't always agree with him, but I respect him.

Sort of yes: I was tossing around the idea of getting a CS Pocket Bushman for a while, and figured I'd look up some videos of it. After watching how much crap Nutnfancy had to put it through before it broke, I was pretty much sold on it. I figure if someone can be so stupid and unsafe with a knife, and have the knife hold up to that abuse for as long as it did, then its gotta be a tough knife. So in a roundabout way Nutnfancy simultaneously destroyed his and his son's credibility to me, and sold me on a knife! I still enjoy watching his reviews, but I take his "testing" and "opinions" with a grain of salt. He said the Spyderco Resilience was way too big to EDC, but I think its the perfect size. Doesn't mean I hate him, just that we disagree. A lot.

As for good quality reviews I enjoy watching and can relate to, I like Survival on Purpose. He doesn't pretend to be an expert, he just videos himself using gear and talks about how he likes it. Cool guy. I also liked how he dealt with the issue of batoning: "I would never actually do this in a survival situation, but I think its a good way to test a knife and show how it does with various tasks. If you dont like it, oh well!" I'm thinking of getting the Old Timer saw blade trapper he reviewed.

Yes. I bought a Rat Worx Mini MRX after watching a Rat Worx endurance test on Youtube. Also other Youtube videos of features sealed the deal. I carry the knife daily with no regrets. I also saw a Hogue/Elishewitz video on a plunge lock test and bought a EX-01. It also was a wise decision.

I've never bought a knife or gun based on a youtube review. Though I am a fan of some reviewers (like Virtuovice). I find him to be knowledgeable, and informed. I can watch Hickock45's gun videos.

Others, their voice, and frankly, opinions are like nails on a chalk board to my ears and mind. (Nutinfancy is one of those).
