Have you ever found a knife?

I recently lost Benchmade grip. I was dumping some stuff in a large dumpster bin at work and snagged the pocket clip it fell way down in the dumpster and now there is no possible way I can get to it ,too much heavy trash. it gets dumped on Monday so it's painful just sitting there watching knowing that its sitting at the bottom of the dumpster and there's nothing I can do to get it waiting for it to be thrown away forever.

That really sucks. Sorry for your loss. Perhaps the grip might fall out of the dumpster when its emptied and you will be able to safely pick it out of the bottom?

I found a no brand multitool while training in Land Navigation. It was stamped "US" no brand name. Sort of like an SAK configuration. It was all rusty and had a blade as sharp as a butter knife. It's pretty much unusable. Needless to say at the time I found it I was pretty excited. At the Military Academy a buddy of mine found a leatherman wave and a leather pouch. Only some minor rust damage. Unfortunately, his buddy from the country Georgia threw it into the ground with the blade deployed and it broke. A damn shame.

I once found a Spyderco Dragonfly while mowing my backyard. Missing a pocket clip, so I'm assuming it fell out of someone's pocket. We build a skating rink in our yard every winter, and all the neighbor kids come over to skate, so I'm assuming it was one of theirs. I have to say, I was a little freaked out though. I asked around, but no one claimed it, so I cleaned it up, ordered a new pocket clip, and carried that thing quite a bit. Then, while I was in Red Lodge, Montana, I lost it somehow while skiing. Pretty sure the knife is cursed

I found a Sheffield folding ulitity knife at work I asked around if anyone had lost a knife but everyone just said lookes like you got a new knife.

My little brother has found a few old slipjoints on my fathers property. Huge old farm turned into a bunch of farms .

Found a victorinox when I was a 11. Not sure what model but I think it was a super tinker.

It was "put away" and disappeared forever when I was 12 after the idiot neighbor kid (my age) rummaged through my room and tested the blade on his finger while I was in the kitchen. He went running down the hall shaking his finger and making a mess.

The only knife I've ever found that was worth keeping is a Gerber Ultralight LST. I kept it cause it's an american made one and I found it before I got addicted to collecting knives. I'm still a guy though and it was an american made knife from my home state none the less so I definitely kept it and still have it to this day. :)

Out of all the things I have ever lost, I think it's my mind that I miss the most

found a fairbairn sykes knife trapped behind a cast iron radiator on a dutch barge ,
took some real coat hanger wizardry to get it out .....funny thing is i think i lost it somehow ??

That would have been a facinating find. Was it an old war issue ? I have found knives and axe heads while metal detecting. I found a little CRKT last fall I believe. I tossed it in the garbage.

We were 30 miles into a 60 mile canoe trip on the Verde River, Arizona and we found a shiny new SS Kershaw in 10 ft of water with a monogram engraved. When our retrieval driver came to get us at the end of the trip we showed him the knife. He interpreted the monogram as belonging to our friend who lost it three weeks earlier, the driver was on the trip, and was the one that gave him the knife in the first place! Odds against are astronomical.

I found a SOG desert dagger wrapped in a bloody t shirt in the dumpster behind my office a few years ago. It took some work but that sucker cleaned up like new.

I found a nice dive knife on the edge of a coral reef during a field trip, once - the shiny reflection told me to check what it might be. I don't remember model or name, but I searched out a sheath and gave it to my son who was taking SCUBA certification at the time. It was good luck or fate or karma. It was certainly not a reward for my good character.

I also remember finding a cheap, plastic-handled balisong in a city park. I kept it as my only knife of this type, though it was not worth anything.

I have lost more than a dozen knives over the years. Never found one that wasn't already mine. My current Spyderco Endura has been lost and found three times in the last two years.

I did last week! I found a Case Congress 6488 from between 1940-64. Trying to figure out what it is worth!

I found a Leatherman Supertool in its sheath on a large rock along a hiking trail. My guess is a hiker was sitting on the rock resting when the Leatherman fell out of his pack. Either that, or he just left it there accidently. Unfortunately, he was long gone.

I found a 3 blade Case XX in a mall parking lot once. I would hate to lose a nice knife! Kevin :sorrow:

This is a good thread topic; time for a bump. I was out Geocaching a few days ago and found this in the tall grass! Must have fallen out of someone's sheath. Not too special compared to the much-loved large Sebenza Insingo that was in my pocket at the time, but hey, a free Mora for beater bushcraft activities isn't too bad!
