have you found "the" knife yet?

Honestly I thought I had found it with the zt 0560. Now I don't think the perfect knife exists anymore. The great thing about this industry (or bad thing depending on if you ask my wallet or not) is that there is always something sweeter coming out.

After 57 customs and 120 production knives I can absolutely say that I haven't found "The One".

Ritter Mini-Grip w/ WilkinsGRIPs in Swimming Pool Green G11. A close runner-up is my FrankenBlur - green handles w/ CF inserts and the CPM154 blade from a regular CF Blur.

As for stock production knives... 3-way tie between the CB Leek, FFG Delica, and 556 Mini-Grip.

Not sure I will ever find "the one" I like a lot of things about so many different knives. I guess become a master knife maker and build yourself the perfect knife might be the only way. But as times change so does my taste somewhat I think. However every time I use a new edc I always find my way quickly back to one of my blur's.

As far as balisong, I received possibly THE knife today... Jody Samson weehawk.

I've been saving up for the benchmade mini grip or Kershaw skyline. Both are excellent EDC knives and are pretty popular, especially the mini grip.

no, not yet.
On my quest I found that it does not exist, but I keep searching.
With all the properties it should have it must be flexible - more like T2.
This would give you a large and a small, a fixed and a folder, but then I'm not sure if I use it, because of it's price.

Going steady with my Wilson Combat Eagle by Les George. A great flipper with a slim profile, 3.6" CTS-XHP (RC 60) blade, full titanium handles & frame lock and weighing 4.8 ounces.

For me it'd have the be the Strider SnG's.. Lego and DGG... man they just get me... tiger stripes on the blade is a really nice touch...

If I had to choose ... I'd say an SNG would be "my knife".. it screams use me... while my sm. and Lg. sebenza 21 sit there and scream "be careful with me!" lol...

The sebbies are great knives, but I couldn't imagine them standing up as well to certain "over the top" tasks thats an SnG would...

Not to mention, When spending this much money on a knife, I expect the customer service (warranty) to stand behind it's product.. and although strider might take a long time to get you your knife back, chris wouldn't even help you if you've "flipped" your sebby open... give me a break!

But, it didn't stop me from buying the sebenzas... though now Im thinking on selling/trading them to get me more strider SnG's and Pt's!

;)

Right now my latest want/grail is a Lionsteel SR2. Next week who knows.

I'll always covet other knives, and I like the few modern knives I still have, but if I was "stuck" with only one for the rest of my life, I'd be just fine with my Benchmade 940Ti-01

Of course, I've never carried it yet, since it's just too pretty, and I have my 940D2CF to carry instead. But if I were to only have one, I'd keep and use the Ti-01.

Very nice! Looks like it has a comfortable feel.

I dont think there is such a thing as "the one" in this collection habit ;) There will always be the next great knife steel or blade shape or handle or locking.....etc!! This is an addiction much like a woman buys shoes or handbags :) We buy knives!!! more is
good or we "consolidate" which is just an excuse to BUY MORE KNIVES :) in the search for "the one". Anyways, I have fun chasing "the one" and enjoy the hunt.

Agreed. "The One" always seems short lived. Until the one one shows up.

A life-long knife enthusiast likely never finds or settles on one particular grail, but every once in a while a knife will surely grab them and hold a spot like few others. I have slipjoints that I've carried for decades and thought a Buck 110 was a "modern" folder. It wasn't until I found this God-forsaken place that I discovered the craziness of never-ending lust for "it". After about 100 or so modern folders from all the big players only 5 have taken a permanent seat:

-Spyderco CPMD2 Paramilitary
-Spyderco Southard
-Benchmade 940
-Benchmade Mini-Ritter
-Strider SnG CC

There are a lot of very good knives from ZT, Spyderco, Benchmade, CRK, Kershaw, etc.. but it boils down to:
-Will I use it
-Resale in case I won't
-Weight
-Ergonomics
-Ease of deployment
-Edge retention
-Pleasant to look at

It's a very subjective hobby and what one person see's as a grail, another may see a wad of crap!

If I were forced to let all go but one, at this point it would be the SnG. Feelings aside it is one helluva knife. It's light, locks up 100%, stout as hell yet the FFG CPM154 slices great, has a brilliant 2 choil grip & inspires one to use it. Doesn't hurt that it is made in the USA and has a generous warranty..

Clean your toilet ;) ! Shirogorov 95 w/ M390 for this guy...it's got me seriously considering the sale of everything else.

The one knife for me is my asain water buffalo horn Bucks 110. With silver blosters and rivets. I like it so much. I bought a second one just in case I lose the one I carry.
