have you found "the" knife yet?

Grayman dlc ti/ti Dua. I wanted this knife the minute I saw pics of it and when I finally got it, it was the first knife I was completely satisfied with. There are plenty of others I'd love to own but for now this is def THE one

I've found "the" knife dozens of times. I've got several that would fulfil my needs perfectly, but I like adding new knives all the time. This hobby stopped being about finding the perfect tool a long time ago. :D

ZT0200 for me. Been carrying it for a couple years now. I keep looking for something better, but haven't found it yet. Not sure if I will....

I think I have. Unfortunately, it was the first one-hand opening folder I bought. I didn't know then it would be my favorite. But all the knives I bought after it, couldn't kick it out of my pocket. The first knife that I bought as an adult was a Victorinox Waiter, because I needed the openers. That was in 2006. Two years later I wanted to add a large tactical knife to that. Searched Youtube and it became a plain Spyderco Military C36GPE. I thought it was one of the most functional and one of the most beautiful designs ever. Carrying it, I quickly learned that it came in pretty handy, to EDC a large one-hand opening full flat ground slicer. And fun, flicking it while on the phone or watching Youtube. This knife made me a knife nut. I've sold an 0300, a Horseman, a Longhorn Ebano, a Chinese Folder Glass Fiber Handle and a Mcusta LMC-1311D, because of my Military i.e. they were collecting dust. I added the Orange, the C/F M390 and the blue anodized Fluted Ti to my collection. The C/F M390 is my favorite. Not is the least because of the steel. M390 became one of my favorite steels. This is "the" knife for me so far.

Now, if I could make it even more perfect, I would like to have that carbon fiber Fluted, with stand-offs and the blade a little thinner and full convex... As if they've asked Opinel to grind the blade.... Damn, I think I just jizzed my pants.

My first knife that I cared about and started my knife craziness.

Small Sebenza 21 w/micarta inlays. Will never get rid of this knife.

Would have to say that my current "the knife" is the ZT030X series. Just love the bulky feel, solid lock up and assist action of these beasties. I carry one in a belt pouch when not at work. At work I usually carry a Cryo ii (deep carry clip) and a Case Trapperlock folder in my pocket. (I need at least a thumbstud for opening, assisted preferred :) due to some seriously messed up fingernails from a medical condition.) Office environment and all. Off work I almost always have my 301 at my side. Have my 301 blem on my belt as I type.

well for my fixed blade I have found the one. Please no-one laugh when I say this but it is a Bear Grylls Ultimate Pro fixed blade knife. It is my favourite for several reasons. One it fits my hand like it was custom made for it, two it takes a bit to get a good edge but then it holds onto it like grim death to his scythe and third because it has my absolute hero on it, Bear Grylls. As for folding I have never really owned a high quality folder, in a pinch i'd saya smaller version of a buck 110 in 440C that was my late grandfathers( he started my interest in knives). I love my Charge tti multi-tool as a tool but it will never have the same meaning as my big friendly giant of a fixed blade or the razor edge of my buck 110 rip off.

I have knife moods.

Sometimes I want something substantial. Other times that same knife feels like a brick. So I carry something smaller. Then that knife feels inadequate.

Rinse and repeat.

Yes. Victorinox Farmer. Truth be told, I need no other knife day to day as it quite handily does whatever needs to be done which is precisely why I have it on me always. Day to day, everything and anything else is just redundant.

How do you like the saw on that farmer? Not sure I would have a use for a saw that small.

Jimminy Christmas!!

I looked at that beefy folder in the other thread too, the small sebenza makes it look even bigger. How about a side by side of the two open?

My "one" will be the original ZT 777, but the secondary market it putting a bit of a murderous strain on getting one right now. That, and anyone who has one wont let go to save their life. Some day! The M390 or DLC wont do it for me, gotta have that herringbone.
