have you found "the" knife yet?

My Bradley folder, M4 steel, last knife I'll ever need... Just need to convince myself and stop buying more.

I dont think there is such a thing as "the one" in this collection habit ;) There will always be the next great knife steel or blade shape or handle or locking.....etc!! This is an addiction much like a woman buys shoes or handbags :) We buy knives!!! more is
good or we "consolidate" which is just an excuse to BUY MORE KNIVES :) in the search for "the one". Anyways, I have fun chasing "the one" and enjoy the hunt.

Y
yes mine too para 2
For the last few years I've had a different knife every few weeks and no particular attachment to any one.

Then, a few months ago, I got my first Al Mar SERE 2000. It got 5 or so weeks of pocket time, until I finally scored a Para2 after hunting for weeks to find one. That was a couple months ago, and I still have the Para2 in my pocket.

My next knife will be a Chris Reeve folder, but it will take me a long time to save the 'fun money' to drop $500 on a folder. I'm betting the Para2 will be "the knife" for a long time to come.

The Izula 2 for me. I love that thing. It's the one knife I'll carry with no actual intent on using it. I just like it. :D

I hear you. Love my Izula's. But to be honest, I have a tub full of knives, axes, machete's etc. and what I seem to grab the most is a Mora Companion and or an Izula. It has taken me years to get down to these two for outdoor romps. I am often carrying a shovel, a metal detector, water. Weight and utility become issues.

lol, ok, ok. :)

The VA put me on a variety of pills to help me get back to a more stable state after a 3 year meth binge (AKA marriage). I've been pill free since July last year.

Wood handles aren't my thing, but that is one nice looking GB! I also love the GB, tied with my CF Stretch for favorite ever.

I have knife moods.

Sometimes I want something substantial. Other times that same knife feels like a brick. So I carry something smaller. Then that knife feels inadequate.

Rinse and repeat.
Well stated. I agree, I like a variety for my different moods and needs for different days. Out at night: bigger & more tactical, all black blades (I can deploy without anyone noticing if I get too sketched out). At work: the dragonfly won't freak anyone out and gets the job done. Dressin up: Nirk Tighe. Weekend: ram, para 2 or manix2.

Next on my list to get: Spyderco szabo and nishijin df, al mar eagle, benchmade Osborne.

For me it's the spyderco southard. Not the best ergos, pocket clip or even grind on blade, it flips easy and smooth. For work (chef) it's great for slicing frozen boxes one handed.

Other than that I always have a sebenza if I'm not working.

I have two, my Sebenza, haven't taken it out of my pocket since I got it this January. The other is my Spyderco GB, I don't carry it as much but when I'm going to be doing any hard work or I have a higher probability of loosing my knife that's the only time I leave the Sebbi at home and take the GB.

As some of you may know, my perfect knife was once the Benchmade Adamas. And it arguably is in my top 3 still.
But I think my. Native 5 has me more content right at the moment. I've been carrying it for months now and I'm still happy.

Well, I have several good quality, high value knives. Each of them would serve me well if they were the only blade I carried for the rest of my life. However, I have gravitated to one design, the Svord Mini Peasant. I EDC it every day; it does everything I want a knife to do.

My Presidio 5000SBK, or my Mini Presidio 525. Beautifully crafted aluminum scales and the Axis lock!! I love them.

I've got 2 file cabinet drawers full of the "perfect" knife.

So far, the ones I keep in my pocket the most are my large sebenzas, umnumzaans, and spyderco militarys.

But...I keep looking...

My favorites are my ZT0350 with M390 steel and my PM2.
Very difficult to choose between both since I use them for very different purpose.
With an improved steel I may pick up the PM2 over the ZT350....

I am considering the ZT0562 which may get my preference over the 2 others.... I will see
