have you found "the" knife yet?

I think it's going to be the Wilson Combat Sebenza for me, will know for sure in a couple months...

I have found my perfect knive(s), but I use them all for different situations...

EDC - Al Mar Sere 2K (been carrying this knife for about 15 years. nothing has been able to knock it outta my pocket for more than a day)

Woods Chopper - Busse Basic 9 (Nuff said. Comfy handle, awesome steel, unbeatable warranty)

Bushcraft - Allen Blade MEUK (It just works. Excellent design and craftsmanship. Great all around fixed blade)

All of that said, I still buy and use other knives. Those are just what I settled on as "the best of the best for my personal uses".

After researching for a couple of months, I bought my first ever knife--a Sebenza 21 Insingo, Plain. Looks like I have a loooong way to go in finding "the" knife because I totally lack the experience of comparing them from each other. I just ordered a Strider SNG Lego and will receive it tomorrow. My strategy is to first, narrow the search through 4 popular and poven brands CRK, Strider, Spyderco, Hinderer. Then within the brand, find a knife that would be my favorite.

Having gone through several dozen auditions, I am confident the Benchmade 940 is the one for me.

I have others that I like a lot, but none are a 10/10 like the 940.

Every time I have thought that I had found "my knife", time went by and it changed. Today I would have to say its one of these two but a year from now, I may change my tune. Only time will tell.

The knife for me is the Todd Begg Bodega from the first run of Bodegas, I was forced to sell my collection to pay some hospital bills but I kept the Bodega and this is now the only knife I own. Even if I was still collecting it would be the knife, it's by far the best set up knife I have ever owned. Everything has stayed tight after carrying for a few months now and flipping it a lot. The lock has remained the same early and strong and it will be with me forever.

I dont think there is such a thing as "the one" in this collection habit ;) There will always be the next great knife steel or blade shape or handle or locking.....etc!! This is an addiction much like a woman buys shoes or handbags :) We buy knives!!! more is
good or we "consolidate" which is just an excuse to BUY MORE KNIVES :) in the search for "the one". Anyways, I have fun chasing "the one" and enjoy the hunt.

so true! and im just starting!

Closest I've come is the BM Adamas but my grail blade would be the Adamas' blade in the Cold Steel Recon 1 G10 + Tri-Ad lock handle. I would stop buying knives that day.

Narrowed it down to these 2. They are definitely THE knife.

1. Case Peanut
2. Charlow/Barlow
3. Kershaw OD-2
4. Kershaw R.A.M.

My all time favorites for a long time now.

Found it twice now. First it was my Benchmade Nitrous Blitz, carried it for years.

Next it was my Emerson CQC8, modified to lose the hump and look like a Super Journeyman.

Now it it my Wilson Combat Eagle. I'm selling off most of my knives and keeping the best in each category, and will EDC the Eagle. They are thin, strong and attractive. Ti framed.

I have always been looking for a BIG folder, for self defense, to carry just for that, but that it could be unobstrusive and lightweight.

I want to carry an utility folder or fixed, and a sd folder.

Been trying several combinations. I.E. spartan as SD and yojimbo 2, etc.

After much experimentation, I've settled on the sd folder: the cs hold out I. Very light, very big, tri ad lock. Been edcing it for months now, and I truly forget it's there, because I'm tall.

So my SD folder, "the one" in such task, it's cold steel Hold Out 1.

Still searching for "the" utility knife.

I'm not sure if I'll truly find "The One", but at least right now, it's the Benchmade 810 Contego. For me it's the perfect knife. Large, strong, M4 is my favorite blade steel, extremely sharp and up to almost any chore that I could give it. Keep in mind that I live in the city and engage in absolutely NO bushcraft type activities, so for my needs, the 810 is "The One".

Great choice! I carried that in one of my pockets for almost two months until my wife wrapped her tiny hand around it. The closest I can get to it now is when she gets home from work. Love that knife but I love it even more knowing my wife now "gets it" when it comes to appreciating a good piece of steel. In keeping within the thread I would say my grail is my next knife. My favorite most "hand comfortable" would have to be my DPx T3 with The7 close behind.

MLL Amazon Hunter O1 with Brazilian Cherry wood handles.
Mario's top of the line sheath.
I like it better than my Doziers (they are different type grinds though).

Beautiful none the less, and TALK ABOUT HOLDING AN EDGE, OMG!

Yup, and I carry it everyday. I'm still wanting more knives though.

From the vault of CM's lair - - this was\is "The F'ng Ninja" video - Ha! Would love to see how that piece actually cuts. Epic video. Lol

This Queen in winterbottom bone is the perfect knife for me. I could literally just live on this trapper if I could get a custom with a back lock and thumbstud.
