Have you run into someone carrying a CRK?

I found a guy on Craigs list Houston... swapped him a 25 for a Dammy 21 .... we were both happy!! 25's had just come out, and I had a spare.....

never. and doubt I ever will, especially in my neck of the woods. I do, however, share the same experiences as most of you when showing my CRK to anyone with a claimed interest in knives. 50% blown away, 50% don't understand. I think the "Rolex vs Timex" justification is one of the best I've heard yet. I'll have to give that one a try. I would love to run across another CRK guy out in the concrete jungle somewhere though.
 
most men don't know what the value of a super steel is anyway.. they don't even know what blade centering is or care. They have no eye or idea of a good folder. Funny thing is they have expensive lawn equipment like $5000. riding lawn mowers, hedge trimmers, blowers, weed wackers ect to cut their small yards. But they carry a knife they picked up from Auto Zone or flea market sale.
 
I was at a birthday party and pulled out my sebenza to open a box, and another person recognized it immediately! They didn't have a CRK on them, but they did have a custom Dozier on their belt and a Sebenza at home. We talked knives for the rest of the party, and met up a couple of times after that to trade and chat.

I did meet someone carrying a Sebenza! I had just finally found the Pheasant Tail I had been searching for for years and was showing it to my son. His next door neighbor saw it and flipped out! He pulled out his small Sebenza and told me he too had been searching for a Pheasant Tail (we all trout fish!). Small world I guess!

I EDC a large Insingo, yet I wear a $30 to $40 Timex watch. So I'm not too critical of someone who isn't necessarily a knife connoisseur, unless they're critical of me carrying my knives. Which, as far as my CRK, hasn't happened yet.

I've never run into anybody else carrying any CRK knives that I could see.

Twice actually. One was the boyfriend of a family friend. She bought him a small 21 tanto for Christmas a year or two back. Lucky bastard. The other was working in a mall knife store. Obviously he had a thing for knives, but it was still a surprise to see him carrying a large Annual.

They were just as surprised that I knew what they had, until they saw the large Regular clipped to my pocket.
 
He wasn't carrying one, but someone t my work recognized the small 21 I keep there. I normally have it put away, but he just happened to come over to ask me something wile I was using it. He recognized it, so I let him see it. He liked the graphics, said he wanted one like it but...........
 
Not yet here. Highly unlikely from what I've seen. A lot of cheapie auto parts store knives, wally world specials, etc... I would be quite surprised if I encountered another CRK user anywhere, particularly this area.
 
I haven't run into anybody with a CRK yet. I'm retired from LE & while most of my old friends from work carry good knives, they're usually Benchmades, Spydercos, etc.
 
Met up with a fellow forum member to buy a knife, and he was toting a small 21 micarta. Not really run into, more of an arranged meeting, but he was carrying a CRK nonetheless.
 
I have only once. It was clipped to the pocket of an Otis elevator technician who was working in my building. We chatted for a bit and checked out each other's blades. I've seen him a bunch of times working on the elevators in my building and usually show him something different clipped to my pocket. From what I understand he started off with Spydercos and ZTs and only recently bought a Large 21.
 
No. Asked a room of guys on break who sharpened their knives, survey said "go cheap & pitch 'em," i said i wanted a good knife... glazed stairs, no comprende no interest.
 
A few times, but most of those don't count. Some were employees of CRK at some point or were currently employees. Many of my former coworkers- They were gifted Large Sebenzas for their 10th anniversary by the owner as a milestone.
2 coworkers at my current employer. One of them used to be an active member of this subforum and has some very collectible CRK's.. I need to talk him out of at least one..Zebra damascus
 
Nope. I think the best knife I have ever seen someone carrying is a Spyderco, Kershaw or Benchmade. The rest were probably Walmart specials. Have seen some old timers with Case knives.
