Have you run into someone carrying a CRK?

Yup. I educate some people and when they ask how much for a ti lock and the general story and specs of the knife. . Half the folks are blown away. The other half is disgusted. Its all relative. A 500$ knife is not all that crazy these days compared to mortgage, college, daycare and a car payment and the cost of living.
I've seen some awesome spyderco and Kershaw knives in the wild. That's it. The majority of knives I am shown are m tech and smith and Wesson. Followed by an sak.

Those same people who are disgusted are probably the ones who I see driving around town in a $60,000 Pavement Princess 4x4 truck that they make an $800 per month payment on.

Whatever...

At least my Sebenza 25 is paid for in full. :D

I met a guy locally today who was interested in buying my Small KA CF Sebenza. While showing him the knife he pulled a Micarta Sebenza 25 out of his pocket. I didn't know he already had a CRK. Then as we were talking he pulled a Large Sebenza 21 CGG Raindrop with Damascus blade out of his other pocket. I thought, holy cow, this guys does like his CRKs. We had a nice chat and he bought the Small CF 21 from me. His collection increased by one, mine is down one. Good to find someone who appreciates them.

I have never even met someone (outside of a knife show) that carries a ZT, let alone a CRK. Everyone I see carrying a knife carries a Swiss Army Knife, or a 20 year old slip joint.

I'm sure they're out there, but I've never stumbled across someone pulling out a CRK. Nor has anyone ever commented on mine, and that's just fine with me. 😀

Never run into a sebenza owner. I have shown my sebenza to many others and have never met someone who knew what the company was. Exclusive indeed [emoji57]

Walked into a Polaris ATV dealer one afternoon to look at a few new offerings. Salesman spoke with me for a few minutes and then noticed the small sebenza 21 clipped inside my pocket on my cargo shorts while sitting on an ATV. We talked further and he pulled out a sebenza 25. We exchanged knives and kept talking. I finally left when other customers started walking in. I left without making a purchase but had a nice experience with another knife enthusiast. I am looking forward to meeting other CRK owners in the future.

Never. Most exciting thing I ever see is a Kershaw, maybe a Benchmade. When people ask about any of my CRK's, they can't understand how/why in the world I paid so much for "just a knife".

Then I typically ask them why they paid 350+ for their work boots rather than getting a 50$ pair at Walmart. They promptly reply.."those junk Walmart boots won't last a month" ..........they still never seem to understand the point I'm trying to make.

So again today I ran into another CRK owner. He was selling a DPx HEST and I thought I'd give it a try since it was priced well. We got talking while I was looking at the DPx and he pulled a Small Inkosi out. He started out with Benchmades and some others and then ran across the CRKs. Two in less than a week. Can't believe it.

I was at the grocery store a few weeks ago and one of the guys on the freight team was carrying a Sebenza. It was funny, because I swear I recognized the pocket clip from 15 feet away. I am always looking at what people are carrying hoping I will run into another CRK owner. He was on the phone for some reason, so I didn't go bug him about it. That was the only time that I have ever seen anyone else in person with a CRK, besides a guy at the local knife shop (long before I knew what CRK really was).

Ditto....to be honest the best knife I've seen someone else carrying was an early model manix. I busted out the Delica and he let me try out the manix. It was pretty beat up and he said a friend gave it to him so I don't think he was a Spyderco fan or anything. He's really missing out not checking out the rest of the line!

The guy that owns the business next to the one I work at has a few, and my boss bought a small 21 after seeing mine.

It's never happened to me. Everybody around here carries a knife, but they're mostly Inexpensive Barlow or stockman pocket folders. I'm retired, but I still go shooting with guys from the dept. With them the usual carry knife is a Benchmade, CRKT or Spyderco because the local LE toy store carries them.

A few times, but most of those don't count. Some were employees of CRK at some point or were currently employees. Many of my former coworkers- They were gifted Large Sebenzas for their 10th anniversary by the owner as a milestone.
2 coworkers at my current employer. One of them used to be an active member of this subforum and has some very collectible CRK's.. I need to talk him out of at least one..Zebra damascus

I work at a company with a large engineering population (perhaps 500 or so). I find that the CRKs tend to appeal to engineers, and ran into a handful of the engineers that EDC'ed a Sebenza, and one an Mnandi.

I live in a larger metro area and seem to run into other CRK owners frequently. My next door neighbor collects them and one of my employees is a huge fan.

I ran into a gentleman at a local gun store that carried an Umnamzaan. But the strangest was when I was taking my dogs to the vet. I just happened to be wearing my CRK T shirt and the vet we see was all about CRK!!!

The only time I have seen anyone with a CRK in the pocket, is at a knife show, like Blade.

You don't say? ;)

Well, there was also a really hot machinist that EDC'ed CRKs as well.

I thought you had forgotten me..
Really, it's good to see you hanging around here again. Don't be a stranger!

Saw a guy with a strider in his pocket while i was in line at a local DQ. Didn't say anything to him as we were in the middle of a huge line and didn't know how people would react to two men pulling out knives. I also have ran into a fellow BF member at the end of my road. The last house on my street has woods that surround it and through the woods is a pond and some houses. I had posted pics in the hunting/fishing section on here and he noticed the pond looked famaliar so he asked if it was where he thought it was. A few weeks later we bumped into each other. I had my JK Handmade knives custom on me and he had a gerber fixed blade on himself. We talked for a bit and went our separate ways. People are out there, but knives have been replaced with cell phones in my generation.
